Seven years ago we ate well here. Their website had a facility for leaving comments and I wrote 'If the Osteria Pepo were a picture, it would hang in the Uffizi'. It is still as good. The initial impression this time was that it was unchanged and yet, paradoxically, even better. Going past the garishly lit stalls near the Mercato... More

First night in Florence and wandered here following review recommendations as it wasn't far from our hotel. Whilst our reception wasn't the warmest we've ever received the wait staff soon warmed up and we had a very enjoyable evening. We enjoyed the 'rich plate' to start as a sharing piece, it was huge and very enjoyable with lots of traditional... More

Located right next to the Central Market in Florence this is a small quant establishment. The first time we ate here was for lunch. We sat next to a large open window overlooking the small street leading to the market. I had a cut grilled chicken plate on a bed of red cabbage sprinkled with slivered parmesan. All I can... More

There was four of us in a group. Me, my wife, my son and a friend. We had this big appetizer platter, steaks and two bottles of good wine while seating at the best table in the restaurant. We couldn't ask for more. It was great.

Food was decent and service was fine, but there are better places to go to in Florence. Not expensive so the value is ok.

We were in Florence when an amazing storm hit bringing high gusts of wind, rain, sleet and finally hail that made the streets look like it had snowed. We had just left the Pitti Palace and were looking for somewhere to have lunch, however because of the storm many restaurants were flooded or closed. We asked for a recommendation and... More

From the outside it looked like most restaurants around the Mercado Centrale area. Once inside we were caught by a positive atmosphere. Dishes reasonable priced and served nicely on the plates, arranged with an extra touch of elegance not often found in such restaurants. Friendly service. The house wine was excellent, but a little more that we were looking for. Worth... More

Osteria Pepo was a recommendation from our B&B. I reserved to be on the save side for 7pm and indeed after 30 minutes the small restaurant was practically full. Most of the guests were foreigners. I had a risotto funghi procini and my husband spaghetti al ragu. Both dishes were very good though I thought my rice a little bit... More

I read about Pepo on the Eat Florence app and definitely agree with her recommendation. I went for an early lunch on my last day in Florence and it was definitely the best meal I had while there. I was traveling solo so couldn't have bistecca - but was able to get sliced bistecca on rocket with parmesan and it... More
