Pasta dishes are authentic and delicious, but portions are MASSIVE. Best to share 1 plate between two if having as a starter before main courses. Main courses were spectacular- we ordered seared tuna with pistachio and braised onions and the veal. Highly recommend both. The restaurant is in a lovely local part of town. It was a breath of fresh... More

Excellent dinner! We arrived at the restaurant hungry and tired after a fantastic day of sightseeing. Very tasty 'cucina fiorentina' that left all the 6 of us happy. Vellutata di ceci, tagliolini all'anatra, bistecca fiorentina were the highlights. Very good wine selection (impressive the list of white wines from Collio), we settled for a couple of nice Michele Satta bottles... More

It is a place where the locals go, not just another turist place in town. Food is great. Service is a it slow but always with a smile. I also like a place that has a good rapport quality/price on its wines. It's also a family place. My kids like it every time we are in Florence.

We dined here with friends who recommended this Ristorante, which specialises in Tuscan food. It is a very popular place with locals and is not in the tourist area of Florence. As we were walking to our table we noticed everyone obviously enjoying their meals and the happy conversations that were floating through the Ristorante. The menu at lunch apparently... More

Away from the tourist area this cosy but very lively restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices. Friendly service, local crowd hidden for the mass. Very recommended!

We had dinner on the sidewalk, with pasta and sea food. Service was fine, food was enjoyable, but not impressive. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the menu is wide. We had a minor incident with the check not being accurate, but that happened alost everywhere in Florence.

Our hotel recommended Il Guscio as a good local spot to try traditional Tuscan food, which was exactly our experience. The dishes we had were fairly simple but really well executed. To start, I had burrata cheese with roasted vegetables and my husband had tomato and basil spaghetti. Both were delicious - the ingredients were incredibly fresh and the portion... More

I love the way, in Italy the restaurants often have more than two rooms in which diners are served. Lots of pictures on the walls, few tourists and a great menu. The staff was obliging and the ricotta, berry desert was sublime, I strongly recommend it

I don't eat seafood so am only commenting on the meat side of this place. We got a filet which was the fattiest filet I've ever had in my life- just not good. Risotto was just ok. Staff was not that friendly. We went here on a recommendation from a friend that went years ago for the "local experience". Things... More
