Great service, great food

Coquinarius was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle and heat of Florence. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch here, trying the large antipasti platter for two, wine and coffee. The service, food and atmosphere were fantastic and I'd definitely recommend a visit to others when in Florence.

We had been recommended this restaurant and the food was VERY good. We didn't have a booking and were lucky enough to get a table, unlike the many people we saw get turned away without a booking! I had the pear ravioli and it was outstanding. We just felt the service was a bit off...not v friendly or attentive but... More

Brilliant choice of light lunches - superb wine list - very welcoming and knowledgable host/patron The very best choice for lunch in Florence just along the street from Grom ice cream

This place is really very good. We ordered the chefs choice of bruschetta, pear and pecorino tortellini and ricotta stuffed ravioli with a pistachio sauce. It was delicious. Eat here - it's great.

Beautiful food with well chosen flavour combinations. Not a single scrap was left on any of our plates for any of the courses, and with two awkward teenagers this is unusual. The atmosphere is relaxed and chatty, the waiter friendly, eager to please and willing to spend time explaining the dishes. This was a birthday meal and it was a... More

Nice food selection, especially salads and cured meats. Service was very friendly when it came, but very slow. We had to ask twice for our drinks. Atmosphere was a bit lacking until the restaurant filled up, birthday didn't happen until about 10pm.

Go for the food! The antipasta plates are great, the carpacio was fantastic and the pear and cheese ravioli was out of this world. The manager took care of us so well that we not only ate there on the Friday night, but went back again for lunch the next day and we were not disappointed. Asked for a wine... More

We went for dinner before an Opera show based on the high ratings on TripAdvisor but were disappointed. The ambiance is good and the tables are well spaced unlike many other restaurants. The food however leaves a lot to be desired but for the avocado appetizer, which was very good, this place would be below average. The pastas were in... More

I try to avoid touristy restaurants as much as possible while traveling, which can be hard to do in a city like Florence. Caffe Coquinarius is a great option if you try to do the same. The ambience is casual. They had high chairs for our infant. The waiters are very helpful with the menu and passionate about their food.... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
