You need to be lucky to order what has been already sold during the day so you will have fresh food, otherwise you will have a morning baked and unsold potatoes. veal that hasn't been bought by the locals ........ having the money to expand over the block does not mean that your food is superb as your prices meant... I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and he asked for a pasta and I ordered a risotto. The service was terrible and it took several minutes until we ordered out plates. Our dishes came quickly, but the quality of them were disappointing. My risotto did not have any taste and neither was with the proper rice for risottos!... More

We have just had dinner here after being recommended by our hotel and we really enjoyed it. All meals were great, the waiter was so accommodating and we will probably go back again tomorrow! They also brought us sweet wine and biscuits on the house after our meal. Highly recommended.

We are an American couple who live in Umbria. We went here with friend who live in Florence. We found the restaurant to be charming and full of Italians. A good sign. Italians do not tolerate bad food! We had several dishes and they were all quite good. The wild boar was excellent and the pastas were prepared just right.... More

We (family of 4) wandrered into this restaurant through their back entrance and gave ourselves an accidental tour before making it to the front to be seated. Yes, the restaurant has a interesting layout which has more to do with the cenutary old structure the place is housed in. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The house red was a... More

my husband and I had heard about this restaurant from a fellow airline passenger who had bee n in Florence with his parents in October. We happened by after our walking tour and other walks today. The restaurant was full and the host said if we were willing to wait a tangle would be available within 20 minutes. We decided... More

We ate here twice. The first night we had steak (cooked to perfection) and a mixed meat plate with roasted potatoes - very delicious! But don' t order the broccoli.... But we told them that we didn't care for it and they gave us a complementary dessert. The second night we ate spaghetti bolognese, also wonderful. The staff is very... More

A friend who lived in Florence for a few months recommended Spada for our day trip. It is central to main sites and on the way to/from the train. Spada has a modern feel with pop music piping in from the radio. The house red is excellent, the Ribiolitta and Vegetable soups were a healthy, hearty start ahead of the... More

La Spada was highly recommended by our concierge following my daughter expressing how much she enjoys eating a good steak. Our entire family decided to order the dish that he recommended which was their Florentine Steak. We were not disappointed. However, the steak is served quite rare. The service was a bit disappointing and it was quite evident that the... More

I was studying abroad in Florence for 2 months this past summer and La Spada delivers! They have outstanding food and a great Italian atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area. Of all their dishes, my favorite is their Ribollita! Great traditional Italian dish done right!
