After getting over our jet lag, my husband and I walked down to Trattoria Ruggero at the recommendation of the host at our bed and breakfast. What a delightful experience! The veal chop was by far the best I have enjoyed, and I have dined all over Europe and grew up going to the best restaurants in New York. This... More

This place is at its best when there are fresh mushrooms available- I have never eaten a better porcini salad. Yum... Great service and a kind atmosphere.

It's quite a hike from the tourist side of the Arno. But the white truffle pasta and the farinata con cavalo nero were worth the trek in the rain. Don't miss this.

We are endlessly grateful to the friend who sent us to da Ruggero -- otherwise we'd never have found it in its unlikely location on the road out of town. Then we saw how many people raved about this place. It's the food you dream of discovering. Simply. Perfect. Essential Tuscan food. The room is warm and welcoming, too. OK... More

This gets as close to my grandmothers cooking as I could wish for. Perfectly executed Florentine cuisine in the traditional style. Everything in harmony. If you weren't brought up in the 50s and 60s by an inspired professional cook, it might not be to your liking.

Ate here twice, I'm in the restaurant business and this place nails it. Service, food and ambiance. I recommend making reservations. You can "sneak" in early without one.

We headed to this restaurant, a bit outside of the centre of Firenze, because of its good reviews and recommendation by Lonely Planet. Even though the restaurant was empty, we were seated next to the toilet. No English menu's available but the friendly waiter translated most of the dishes for us. Only a few minutes after ordering we already got... More

My husband and I had dinner at this place at the recommendation of our B&B host, Elena of Fiorenza B&B, and we were not disappointed. We had a spot of trouble getting to the place and only managed to find it with the help of some kind locals who pointed us in the right direction. The food and service were... More

Da Ruggero serves excellent Tuscan cuisine 2km from the center of Florence. I began with a lovely plate of taglierini with cepes. If my stomach had not been a little on edge, I would have ordered the garlicky spaghetti all carretteria. I'll make that a my house soon. My arista (rosemary-infused pork chop) was perhaps a best pork chop ever.... More

Ruggero is very nice place where you can find delicious traditional Italian food. The atmosphere and the service was very cool. And I probably had the best crem caramel ever in this place.
