The rest of my family found their main dishes good (pizzas and pappardelle with boar), but I would say that my gnocchi with Gorgonzola and pear was only ok. We had a nice bruchetta sampler as an appetizer and did have a lovely bottle of Peppoli Chianti. Service was good, but I didn't like how they... read more

It definitely looks like a tourist trap but after walking untold kilometres through the museums, just needed to sit down. The service is very ordinary and it took over 20 minutes to arrive while others got theirs before me but when it came , it was wonderful, just what you'd like an Italian pasta to be. Had the Ravioli all'ortica... More

First time in my life I left a restaurant without eating. After one hour waiting, we asked the server when the food will be ready. But we didn't get any clear answer. Moreover as we were sitting next to the kitchen, we had the "chance" to see the dirty dishes standing next to the plate ready to be served. We... More

After shopping around the market all afternoon I was on my way to my hotel when i was stopped by a very polite gentleman offering me a glass of wine and a smile. Very pleasant and welcoming. I had planned on just coming back later for dinner but decided to go in for a glass of wine. He had sparked... More

Great place for drinks. Terrible for food. The Margarita pizza was probably the worst pizza we had ever!!!! The pasta cinghiale ( wild boar) was terrible and NOT fresh. Location was awesome, you're in the middle of Piazza Signoria

We toured the piazza on a recommendation for dinner, which turned out to be painfully touristy. We try to to avoid places with a "tourist" menu. So we looked for a new trattoria. The greeter here was charming, and when the owner came out and told us how "bad" the food was, we were decided. Maybe our American palates aren't... More

Poor service, bad food in quality, dirty place, smelled like a humid closet. Maybe the worst pizza I ate in Italy.

It was our first night in Florence and we had a very good time in this ristorante. We stopped though it was clearly on a very touristy street but I liked the exterior. And we did not regret. Both cheese and meat antipasti were a great selection and plentiful. Pizzas and lasagnas we ordered were very good. A side ordered... More

Quick service in a place that's relatively touristy with typical touristy cuisine. Nothing to write home about but not bad and not awful. We had nice brushetta and antipasto which were both average and pasta dishes which again were nice but average. Tiramisu for pudding was delicious and we had a nice bottle of wine although it was double the... More

We stopped in this small restaurant by chancefor an early dinner. We enjoyed an excellent meal and had the best Fiorentina tripes of our holiday. Service was good and prices very reasonable. We would definitiely go back to Il Cantastorie!
