Decent food, decent service

After the doorman/advertiser chatted us up for a while we decided to give the place a try. We had pasta fajioli, gnocchi and lasagna. Gnocchi was the best of the three and treated very fresh. Other two weren't bad, nothing to write home about. Food took a long while to be served, waiter came out... read more

We happened upon this restaurant while wandering around Florence. I enjoyed the gnocchi with gorgonzola and pear and my husband liked the steak. It inspired me to try making it at home. Service was a little slow, but the waiter was polite.

Can't say enough about this restaurant! I have never had ravioli as good as what I did here! The staff are excellent and the food is amazing. Well worth a visit. It was so good I actually went there twice on my visit to Florence!

Drawn in by the head waiter we chose various salads for a light lunch. All were somewhat past their best and somewhat tasteless. Service was impersonal and slow. The saving graces are the location in the centre of Piazza Della Signorina and the cooling mist and fans provided.

Tourist trap. Piazza signoria happens to be my favourite square and we decided to eat there in the evening on the 12th August. The head waiter who ushered us in with his smooth talking , was then too busy. They were more interested in bringing people in which I can fully understand. Surprisingly the restaurant was full. I had the T... More

We asked for the special menu 24 euros per 500g of t-bone steak, mixed salad or potatoes, 1/4 of wine or 500ml of water, and a coffee. We shared it and it is good enough for a couple to eat. It worth a visit! They charge 2.5 couvert, per person.

Visited twice for lunch and each time had great food with lovely service. Staff are friendly and one of the waiters even kindly gave me an impromptu Italian lesson. Food is not haute cuisine but there were no complaints and the portions were huge! Good value for money, nice environment and would really recommend. It is opposite the "Pinocchio" shop... More

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
