Up there with the best meals we have had

Florence has many excellent restaurants but Trattoria Diladdarno still shines. I recommend you try something with truffles - I had pecorino con tartufo and my wife had ravioli con tartufo and both were very tasty. Desserts are good too.

This family run trattoria is cosy, welcoming and the food is fantastic. We had the fiorentina steak here both times and it was the best we've had anywhere. Great quality t-bone, cooked to perfection. Desserts were different to the standard offering in Australia, just beautiful. We actually were too full for dessert but what the heck, it's a long way... More

Our tour guide recommended this place. Only open a year and a half - we arrived at noon on a Monday needing some warmth and a good meal. The place has a family feel - with family style tables. We ordered the foie gras and the pumpkin soup as appetizers. Seriously the best foie gras we have had anywhere (even... More

We came on a Tuesday night around 9 PM and the place was empty. The owner proceeded to tell us that there was a soccer game on betweem Roma and Firenze and normally it would be packed. We had the cold cuts, where was the usual meats but with very nice pecorino, parmigiana, and goat cheese served with honey and... More

If you hunger for lusty and savoury things to eat, then ordering a cutting-board (tagliera) with salumi Toscani and Tuscan pecorinos of different ages, is the sure bet to gastranomic heaven. Ask for some marmellata di peperoncino, a piquant marmalade that heightens the sensation on the palate. My femme tried and loved the chiarra del barsanti, strand pasta with tomato,... More

We stumbled across this little restaurant and had a great Tuscan dinner with fresh pici and chingale ragu. The house wine was very good, service was excellent, and we were the only non-locals in the room. Highly recommended.

We went back to Trattoria Diladdarno today for the forth time, and as always the food was great. They have a lunch menu with a choice of 3 primi piatti and 3 main courses to pick from. All for the price of a pizza at most places in Florence. Far from being a tourist trap, the owners are very pleasant... More

Walked around looking for a restaurant away from the crowd and came across this gem. Walked in without checking reviews and was pleasantly surprised. Pleasant balanced satisfying meal (baked stuffed onion starter and beef cheek ravioli), genuine kind service (even with my non-existent Italian and their limited English). Love how bread, service and water is included in the meal price... More

Food was wonderful, the owners/management lovely and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. The could use a little better atmosphere but we found that lacking in most restaurants (turn down the lights!)

My wife and I had a few bad experiences in florence restaurants so this was a delight. Food was top notch. We had the beef cheek ravioli with gravy. Stunning. Service/cover charge included in price, as was the bread and a limocella at the end of the meal! We tried our best with speaking Italian and the owner gave my... More
