Very good all round

A local recommend here. We didn't have a reservation but they went out of their way to seat us. Shared a Florentine steak and a bottle of wine, both very good. Slightly on the expensive side but didn't begrudge paying it.

Dined here in our first evenings of many to come in Firenze and still think of it as the most delicious experience. Definitely worth visiting and a booking is highly recommended!

Made reservations for 20:00 (8:00 pm) via email one month ago and confirmed by phone day before. Easy! Seated our party of 5 (3 adults and 2 teens) at window in front entry of restaurant. Fun watching taxis dropping off guests for dinner. Several were turned away without reservations. Our food was delicious! We split 2 salads as starters. Even... More

We ate here the final night of our Florence vacation and it was one of the very finest meals we had during our 10-day trip to Italy. Constantly changing menu but the veal with avocado was better than outstanding. Great, knowledgeable service and excellent wine selection.

I am very surprised about a couple recent negative reviews. We found the service from Nicola exceptional, and all four of us found the food very good and priced consistent with other casual but nicer restaurants in Florence. Portion sizes were very generous.

OK , this may vary, but our experience was poor. Food was OK , but nowhere near what we've tasted in other places in Rome, Perugia or elsewhere. Especially my wife's dessert: strawberries with cream was a real joke, she found this tasteless and when we were paying at the counter, we found out that the cream was coming out... More

Being from San Francisco, we have a sense of great food and this place was terrible!! Stay away no matter what others have written about this restaurant. Bad wine, food that will make you sick and if you are a tourist, you will get seated in the back section with other tourists. The staff could care less about your dining... More

We had a mediocre bruschetta, an excellent beef florentine and a chianti of 2012 although ordering reserva 2010. Service was kind.we also had strawberries. With 145 euros for two it was overpriced in my opinion.

Overcooked pasta, overseasoned sauces. Average food, expensive prices, not a local in sight. Service is friendly though.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
