Good food, warm atmosphere

This is a very basic sort of restaurant serving well-prepared regional food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It's not "fine dining", but we enjoyed it very much. No bla bla. Just very good quality in the traditional Tuscan cuisine. Good balanced flavours and fresh ingredients. This is not a pizzeria (if you want pizza go to the neighbours Gusta Pizza als very very good) Definitely recommended when visiting Florence. You can walk there from the old city center, just cross the Arno. Also locals come here a... More

Had a good meal here, service was very attentive and the food was served faster than I've ever seen in Italy - a good option if you are on the move and not wanting to get trapped for a long time.

A typical Tuscan Trattoria with good Italian food, wine and very good prices. It is very popular, especially with the Florentines so booking is recommended. Fast service and genuine food.

Seeing the stream of locals coming and going over the lunch hour, I had to try La Casalinga. What a perfect Florentine lunch spot. 50 years of excellence for a reason! This is not fine dining. This is an authentic, tasty, rich experience you won't forget about. Try the Tagliatelle al Sugo di Coniligo (thick pasta ribbons in a duck... More

The food is very good although did not enjoyed the deserts! The price is probably cheap for this quality in Florence. The service was very acceptable but I did not like the decoration at all.

We first visited this place on the recommendation of our Airbnb host in 2014, returning in 2016 it is just as good. The ragu is always excellent ( we have had wild boar and rabbit). At lunch it is full of locals enjoying hearty, reasonable lunches, so turn up at 12 if you want a table. For evenings, book ahead.... More

Good service, bad food. We were not impressed with food they recommended. Pasta was rather poor. Usually i don' t leave bad comments, but we left place hungry and in a bad mood.

This typical family Trattoria has been a favourite for local Florentines for decades now. The formula for their success is simple: fresh, seasonal food served with a smile. The menu is typically Tuscan and it's reasonably-priced, the ambiance is always cheerful and not too noisy. If travelling in a group larger than two, please book ahead.

This Trattoria was recommended by our travel book so we made a reservation. It is kitty-corner from the Basilica di Santo Spiritu, a place whose square is littered with restaurants and pubs. This is a family place. If you are willing to share a table you get faster service. There is a line-up to get inside and also to get... More
