Veal with roasted potatoes, perfect freshly prepared pasta, very fair food and wine prices. We have been there many times but not for about 10 years. Place has been upgraded substantially as far as looks and atmosphere, but prices are still a bargain for the quality

We found this place on Rick Steve's list. Got there just in time before a long, I mean long, line of hungry locals and tourists arrived. Those who had a reservation were seated quickly. We opted for a cramped place and had no regrets. The food is so delicious and very, very inexpensive! Service is incredible; you're swept up in... More

My husband and I found this restaurant on our first night in Florence (after 4 nights in Venice). We went there based on the Rick Steves review, but we almost changed our minds when we realized that the people in line waiting to get in when the doors opened at 7 pm were apparently all American tourists (some apparently coming... This was an outstanding meal in Florence with great service and value. Be warned that they don't have English menus but our waiter was very helpful and guided us to a great meal. I would recommend the tiramisu for desert as well which was outstanding.

This is the easiest review I've written on here. Everything that's been written by previous reviewers that raves about this place is correct. Any reviews that are even slightly negative are not correct. Those who wrote the negative reviews either were in a "bad mood," don't know anything about food or have no taste buds! La Casalinga was one of... More

Our first day in Florence, our concierge recommended this nearby (we were staying in the Oltaranto in Piazza Santo Spirito) and the best she could do was snag a 10 p.m. reservation. Every table was taken for good reason. Everything we ate was excellent. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. In typical Italian fashion, the... More

You must find this place if you want good honest Italian food. No fancy menus or prices, just excellent food in a warm friendly atmosphere. There are more locals here than tourists which says everything about the place - less than 5 min walk from the Ponte Vechio. If you go there you will not be disappointed!

If you want nouvelle cuisine, this is not the place for you. But if you want beautifully cooked typical Tuscan dishes, then head over to this restaurant. We were lucky enough for them to fit the two of us in on a Friday night, but larger parties should probably book. The welcome couldn't have been better, the wait staff was... More

This is my second trip to this yummy restaurant. 1 st time 2 years ago and I had to go back. Excellent homemade food and great service. Delicious roast beef, lasagna, and all of it! Restaurant is filled with locals who know how good this place is. My only disappointment today was no Mama cake. :( guess I'll just have... More

Stayed at Hotel Palazzo Guadagni so were looking for recommended restaurants nearby. Read the reviews and were not disappointed. Managed to get a table by booking earlier in the evening. Friendly staff who were happy to explain the menu in English to us. Perfect pasta and a great steak to follow. Good atmosphere in a restaurant that is deceptively big... More
