At 7:30 pm on a monday in August, we were very lucky to get a table without making reservations, but as we sat down, there came about 20-30 people who did not, so I recommend you make a call prior eating here. Great house wine, and excellent atmosphere. So anti touristy, that we had to google the menu to understand... More

We visited Casalinga one night for a small dinner of pasta & wine, and it was so good we came back the next day for something more substantial. To start a platter of meats & cheeses served alongside a litre of house wine so good i was sure the price was wrong on the bill (it wasn't). Next: pasta & clams,... More

This restaurant on the south side of the Arno near Pitti Palace came highly recommended by the host at our B & B. We tried 2 nights, unsuccessfully, to eat there. (It's a fairly large restaurant but very popular.) We ultimately made a reservation for the third night and were glad we did. In our party, we had bruschetta, a... More

This restaurant is everything you want it to be - delicious food in a warm atmosphere at good prices. The pasta was delectable, the bread to die for, and the bruschetta outstanding. In addition, the house made desserts were flawless. We ate like kings and queens (appetizers, pasta dishes for 4, a bottle of wine, and 3 desserts) - and... More

We asked a tour guide for a place to get good local food. He never doubted for a aecond: Casalinga. Get a reservation at least the morning before you want to go. Otherwise the wait is a long one. Many locals have one. Try the veil Florence style.

Better make reservation. Food is good as well as the service and the house wine is good too. Is on the other side of ponte vecchio.

Looks strange, tastes amazing, just like my grandmother's cooking. The vegetable soup was especially good. The spicy beef stew is amazing.

We went here on the second of our three nice in Florence as it had been recommended by my brother. Our apartment was nearby, so we called in at lunchtime and booked a table for 8.30 pm. On arrival, there was quite a long queue for tables, and we had to wait a little while, even though we had booked... More

This was one of our more memorable meals on our visit to Italy. We got lucky and arrived just in time to get the last available table before a number of others arrived and had to wait to be seated. We were seated in the front dining room - I didn't realize until I got up to use the restroom... More
