Excellent food in modest settings.....

Came back after a couple of years to try this place out again. Restaurant was quiet which was a shame. The food is really good. I think they serve some of the best Pici in town. The bistecca was truly amazing.Simply grilled and was tender as butter. We had many in Florence but this one stood... read more

Granddaughter was able to devour gluten free bruschetta, chilli sauce spaghetti and both chocolate and apple cake. They can do most dishes GF and at the same time, we loved the regular ravioli pear in butter and eggplant parm dishes.

Was quiet when we arrived so weren't so sure how the experience would turn out but the food was absolutely amazing. A truly authentic Italian meal. Highly recommended.

It was our last night in Italy. This was the last place we found that would serve us at 8pm. It was the most amazingly friendly service, the food was impeccable. The cigatr roll is a fun start, but the turnip greens and risotto are amazing! I love this place. It is quiet and makes you feel like you are... More

Unpretentious and delicious meal served hot, with flavour and a smile. No pretentious high class waiters adding to the bill but a comfortable and rewarding experience.

Had a fantastic dinner with my husband. Ribollita was excellent as well as the Bici al pesto di cavolo nero. My husband had tripe that was excellent. The ambience is like a proper nice trattoria, rustic but nice and the service was impeccable. We were given detailed explanations of the dishes and suggestions. Some on the nex table had the... 3 of us recently spent a few days in Florence and we had lunch twice at this restaurant. Both times the food was excellent, perfectly cooked, with simple fresh ingredients. We particularly enjoyed the very lightly fried mixed vegetables and "fiori di zucca", the "gnudi", the tagliata (best I've ever had although the chef grumbled a bit when I asked... More

I Toscano is a family run restaurant I've been eating at for 20 years. My friend and local resident Piero introduced me to it when I was studying in Florence in 1994, and I've been eating there ever since (and twice last week). 'Semplice ma Buono' (simple but good), as the Italians put it. I Toscano reflects the fact that... More

This is a small family run restaurant situated behind the main tourist area on a busy shopping street. It seemed almost empty at 8 pm, so we hesitated but once inside we found there was a large party in a second room further back, where we sat, then later a further dozen or so people left from yet another room....
