Trattoria Mario was our favorite restaurant on our two-week trip to Italy! My husband and I were looking for a restaurant to provide a true Italian meal experience, and this one did. The restaurant serves good, simple Italian comfort food. It has a "dive" feel to it, but this is essential to the experience. At the restaurant you will likely... More

Context: 2nd day in Florence with my girlfriend. Food: - Formaggio misto con mostarda di frutta. Great selection of assorted cheeses with a fruitty marmalade. - Penne al ragu. Authentic pasta al ragu. - Almond Cookies + Sweet Wine. Soft, delicious Tuscan cookies accompanied with a glass of sweet wine. Great combo. Atmosphere: Loud, warm, informal and very Italian (a... When you go in this typical Tuscany restaurant, you have a really good sensation for the people and the food you can eat! The reservation is when you arrive not before. we ate in the same table with other people. For me it's a fantastic thing ;) Very reccomended!

Every time we are in Florence we make sure we eat lunch at Mario's at least one time. It takes a bit of planning since it is SO popular. To ensure a seat when they first start serving lunch at noon, you need to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time to snag a seat. Fabbio, the person in... More

Visiting friend who eats here frequently. Fun and lively environment! Crowded and you may find yourself sharing a table with strangers, who by the end of the meal, are new friends! Great meal talking with our tablemates, enjoying a variety of mixed meat and cheese platter, to follow with a variety of firsts and seconds. I had the coniglio (rabbit)... More

1 kg T bone €35. 1 vege soup, 1 pasta, Not good at all. The T bone was so hard to chew. The restaurant is small but crowded with tourists all coming according to LP reviews. no setting, Nothing good.

We stayed here with my family during the holidays in Florence and we were very good. Great food, generous portions and the waiter was really nice! Excellent quality / price ratio! Recommended!

Those four words describe everything. The service was typically italian, so yes it's kind of direct and straight forward. You hate it or you love it. Don't come and eat here if you want a service as in a 3 star restaurant. It is possible that you'll have to sare the table. Furthermore you can sense the italian way of... More

Heard from friends it's a must for lunch. My biggest gripe was being treated so poorly from the waiter. Barely shown to our table. He read the menu-which was on the wall and too far for us to see-brusquely. Ribeleta was mushy and bland. Steak had too much salt and was too well done. The strangers at our table had... More
