At home a month before a friend said when we were in Firenze we HAVE TO eat at Mario's and explained about it. It was everything he said we'd find. We do great steak at home so seldom order it when out, but the shared porterhouse we had here was most likely the best steak we've eaten in decades… maybe... More

I stayed in Florence in October 2013, I was there at a conference and was travelling with my Roman colleague. My Italian is very good, but he's the real deal so I left things up to him. We went to the restaurant and there were throngs of people lined up outside. There were other restaurants on the same street with... More

I just got back from a two week trip to Europe with my wife and another couple and the consensus was that this was the best meal we ate by far!!! The Ravioli was delicious but the main attraction was the Steak Florentine. Words cannot do this steak justice. You need to try it for yourself. They are only open... More

If you want to experience fresh, authentic Italian cooking Mario's trattoria is the place to visit. Yes there is a long wait and the restaurant is small and crammed but the food is sensational and extremely well priced. We enjoyed the pasta with ragu and it was one of the best pastas we have enjoyed in Italy - and for... More

T-bone steak the width and length of a large child's head! It's a small crammed place, with about 40-60 seats max. The wait time is about 30 minutes because they are only open for lunch 12-3:30, well worth the wait. The Steak Florentine is to die for, so moist! Make the time to visit Trattoria Mario, you won't be sorry.

Busy place where you may be sitting at a table with another group in order to get seated…do it…it's worth it. Get there and give your name. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Totally amazing local food. The menu is posted on the wall daily and when the choice is no longer available, they literally cross it off.... More

When you arrive in this local you have... More

Went here with my mom and vegetarian daughter - no seafood but the caprese salad was off the charts. Any of the meat is great. It does not take reservations past 330. Service is ok.

Annoyed about sharing tables? Don't go there. Otherwise staff/owners are excellent and food delicious. There is a trick on reservations. Get there early, put your name on the list and disappear....when you return your always first . This could change.

We were pleasantly surprised by this tiny place. It's always busy, and there is a long wait, but once you're inside you will enjoy delicious and authentic Tuscan dishes for very reasonable prices. Be prepared for communal tables (we sat next to an Italian family, which was fun) and waiters with little patience... Still, this is an excellent stop for... More
