Tiny kitchen, big flavor

We passed this small restaurant while on a walk around the area close to our hotel, reviewed the menu and decided to make reservations for the evening. The restaurant is a delightful surprise with a very small staff who managed to do it all; great food, great service, great evening all together.

3rd time visiting beloved Firenze, I wanted to try something different and found this gem near our lodging. Here is what I have found: - Atmosphere: a nouveau deco mixed look, it's not a mom and pop feelings here folks. It looks expensive from afar with all the extra bell and whistles of decor. - Food: but the true gem... More

This is a great place to eat, have a glass of wine or small platter of cheese and ham. One end of Gustavino is a restaurant and the other is café style for a glass and a snack or small meal. Good ambiance in a neat side street just off the Piazza da Signoria and the service is informal and... More

My husband and I had dinner here tonight after finding it on trip advisor. We have been in Italy for almost two weeks and this is one of the best meals we have had in Italy. The service was impeccable and the food was simply amazing. I am unable to have gluten and they were so accommodating I even got... More

I had a hard time giving a rating to this restaurant because I really thought the food and wine were excellent but the service was a bit unprofessional- a whole bevy of waiters/waitresses rather than one devoted to us- stopping wine service in the middle to switch to another waiter, things dropped on the floor- all a bit hurried and... We have found this place just by occasion, wandering a side streets near Palazzo Vecchio. Good stylish contemporary cold interior made refreshing impression after common view of many Florence restaurants traditionally oriented on the tourist wish to see " old good Italy " with all these bottles of Chianti and garlic wreaths. For a starter my companion selected Scallops with... More

The food was very tasty, I had the cuttlefish starter and pasta as a main. The service was great, they give customers free glass of sparkling wine and shot of lemoncello. The manager is very friendly and personable.

GustaVino is perfectly situated near the Piazza della Signoria. The restaurant has the appearance of a wine cellar and is decorated with gorgeous artwork. But let's get down to the good stuff... the food. Chef/owner, Giancarlo (whose family also owns Borgo De' Ricci Agriturismo (www.borgodeiricci.com) in Tuscany, is passionate about his food, olive oil and especially his wine. His family... More
