We had just visited the Santa Crose church and found this excellent restaurant close-by offering a range of snacks to full dining facilities. The staff were really excellent and helpful with our virtually non-existent Italian, even though they were very busy! As it was approaching Christmas, the restaurant sells its own range of panettone, which is home-baked on the premises.... More

We didn't plan a restaurant for the evening and the places recommended by the hotel were closed. We ended up stumbling upon this place and it seemed a little expensive but quite nice. When we walked far back inside the restaurant it was beautiful with a lovely patio on the back. We had the classic florentine style T-bone steak that... More

This lovely restaurant is in the Piazza Santa Croce, near the church and the leather shops. It has several lovely rooms. Service is quick and good. The Pizza was remarkably good, with fresh tomato sauce and basil. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the location. It is a reminder of how pleasant it can be to sit in a restaurant and... Wonderful location. If you can I would sit outside & take in the beautiful Basilica of Santa Croce church. Staff were friendly. My partner and I ordered two pizzas which was served to us freshly made in about 6 minutes ... Be warned they are about 12" so pretty big! Food was good lovely sights this is a great wee... More

When you have half-day and one meal to spare in Florence, what is one to do? You could count your lucky stars you’re in Florence…and not in…you know, Detroit. There are hundreds of options and to just pick one…if you’d be smart, you’d pick a comfortable chair in front of a picturesque square and order a lot of food. Finisterrae... More

I only had the coffee and pastry here but it was very good and the price was reasonable. It is in a nice location and the setting was very comfortable.

My fav restaurant for lunch in Florence. The pizza was yummy and the service was good. The pastry are spectacular. However, for dinner they change the menu and add the mandatory tip per person. Big disappointment.

If you are in Florence at the Piazza Santa Croce (don't miss going inside the church - Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Danti have their crypts here) stop by this cafe on the corner of the square. They have sandwiches, espresso and outstanding desserts. the cost is about half of other cafes with internet wifi. Emanuela will take good care of you... More

Evening meal of pasta and pork. Food was ok but nothing special. Service was pretty off-hand and the waiter(s) didn't make much effort. Asked for tap water with our bottle of wine but was refused. Asked again to be told it was 'policy' - are these people for real? Excellent views of Santa Croce but try Boccadama or Note De... More
