We are so impressed by Cantinetta dei Verrazzano that we are writing this review whilst still here. Food, wine and service simply outstanding. If you are looking for authentic Cantinetta fare (no main dishes), and happy to share small plates you must visit!

This place should be on everyone's list. Amazing wine. Try the Classico 2009. Wonderful appetizers to snack on. And the staff is the best part. So kind and helpful. Be sure to have a glass of vin santo and biscotti for dessert.

Italians don't do eggs for breakfast, so it was a constant struggle trying to find a good place for breakfast in Florence. Look no further than here, because Cantinetta dei Verrazzano had the best espresso, pastries, and sandwiches for breakfast! Try their ham/cheese mini sandwiches with a cup of cappuccino and you will have a great start to your day.... More

Coffee and pastries delicious. Waitress in small back restaurant was very helpful in making suggestions, everything was fresh and sooo tasty. After I discovered this place, I stopped by for coffee and to eat something every day. Highly recommend.

Brilliant wine and friendly staff. Go beyond the little cafe area to the seats in the back. Order a bottle of wine and some cheese and bread....and then go back out to hit the streets of Florence.

After a very hot morning sightseeing in Florence & walking the halls of the Uffizi we were in need of a nice lunch before hitting the Accademia Gallery & more sightseeing. Our guide recommended this place & the gelato shop across the street to recharge our batteries & it was perfect. The front is a busy pastisserie but there is... More

For breakfast, a wide variety of pastries and great coffee. For lunch, pizza and focaccia by a slice, sandwiches, freshly squeezed juice. There are only few tables, so you might need to grab a seat on the bench and watch the locals...

We are regular visitors to Verrazzano for our morning coffee and for lunch. Everything they do, they do well. The staff is friendly and efficient. We consider their espresso and cappuccino to be the best in Florence - and that is saying a lot!

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
