We had a great meal here, but the atmosphere was odd, almost formal service but not attentive. Music (Enya?) did not enhance the experience in any positive way. However, the food was great. Hopefully they add a bit of warmth to the place, befitting of the home style cuisine.

I used to visit this place frequently. It's a shame because the food was great (although sometimes pricey) but the service was what kept me coming back. The mother and son were always so nice to me and greeted me warmly each time I came in. Although the mother has remained sweet and lovely as always, the son started becoming... More

It's taken me five months to write this review because I thought I should give the restaurant the benefit of doubt. But the demeanor of the owner is horrible. We had a reservation (made four months in advance) but had a cab driver that could not locate the restaurant and kept us driving around Florence for 40 minutes. We called... More

On arrival the chef/the owner told us about the menu really quickly, he came across as very angry, it seemed like the customers were scared of him and were waiting for him to tell someone off! The food on the other hand was fantastic and you could tell that he takes a lot of pride in it. He just does... More

Small restaurant with an every day changing menu. Everything is freshly made that day. Service is lovely and relaxed. Housewine is good. Seating arrangement is along a bar with gives the experience a very personal touch. Two starters, one main course and a bottle of wine and water brought the total to 70 euro which was worth every sip and bite.

I read the reviews here before going and wanted to see how much of it was true. The food undoubtably is amazing, great flavour and high quality. The chef is dry and doesnt come across as particularly friendly towards tourists. Locals on the other hand he is completely different. You will see this also when receiving your food. For the... Saturday night, my last night in Florence. Exhausted from all the touring. A beautiful shining star that used to be a grocery store. Best past, and the most beautiful meatball I've ever tasted. More please!

We were really looking forward to sampling some local Florentine dishes and seasonal ingredients and the clean, contemporary look of the small space seemed to promise much. But the attitude of the host spoiled the experience. We were probably to blame for getting off on the wrong foot and we should accept some responsibility for that. We put a bottle... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
