Best food we had in Florence

So good that we went twice in one day! Top tip-if you go in the evening without a reservation, then be prepared to queue. Or if you want to give yourself a pat on the back then go during lunchtime where it is almost empty and the food is still just as good. Please note: you can also get the... read more

We knew we would need reservations for the Friday we arrived, given this restaurant is not open on Saturday or Sunday. Our hotel helped us get these before we left for Italy. I'm delighted to say the food and ambiance lived up to our expectations. Everyone working there is "family," and they provide great service and a love for the... More

Trip advisors recommendation of this restaurant was quite accurate. The food was very local, fresh, very good. Small rooms mean intimate surroundings and chatting up the 'neighbors' who are very close by! The meatballs and potatoes were simply prepare and delicious. The white beans done simply in olive oil and spices were perfectly prepared. No frills just great food and... More

We got shown the door twice because they were booked so full in advance. Always a good sign... On our final night in florence, we made the considerable walk in to dine there, and we were blown away....The Bistecca, was some of the best prepared meat ever presented. The owner advised on the perfect wine, and it made for an... More

Del Fagioli was recommended by our tour guide and it was spot on. Our waiter helped us put together an outstanding meal as my wife and I were not sure what to order from a menu that was mostly in Italian. The service didn't lag as the attentive wait staff helped one another in making sure our food arrived in... More

The food is OK but the restaurant is snobbish. Most of the customers are foreign tourists but the menu is only Italian. We ordered what the waiter suggested because we couldn't understand the menu. Main courses were nice. We had cheese ravioli and meatballs with parmegiano. First course was called "soup" but was some unidentifiable vegetable dish and not soup.... More

Great restaurant! Make sure to make a reservation, and come between 9 and 9.30 pm to avoid the tourists. We had the steak, and it was wonderfull! Service is very nice and try the house wine. We will come back next time we visit Florence

This family run restaurant has good, typical Tuscan food. The night we were there most of the patrons were locals, many eating alone. The food was amazing and the service was very friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable. We are looking forward to having a meal there again in the future. Do remember to book a table. We... More

We found this place using Elizabeth Minchilli's "Eat Florence" app (which is a handy guide to finding some great places you might otherwise pass by). The location is conveniently close to the Santa Croce piazza and church and not far from the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, and other central attractions. The interior is charmingly rustic and simple, in wood and painted... More
