Recommended by the owner of our B&B and one of our top meals in Florence. We will remember our Bisteca for a long time. They sell it by the kilo, so be prepared to share. They bring out the steak for your approval before cooking it and tell you the exact weight. My husband declined the first one because he... More

We enjoyed tasty pasta and veal dishes here. Excellent pear and apple cake for dessert. If we'd been in Florence longer we would have eaten here again. Filled with tourists but felt a bit more authentic as there were some Italians eating here, and the menu was not in English.

We read the reviews of this restaurant and made sure to lunch there on our day trip to Florence. We were not disappointed. Traveling with two young kids - the four of us shared the bifteca florentina (steak). It was huge and the perfect amount for all of us. It was absolutely the best steak we have ever had...and trust... More

We tried the place on a recommendation and it was right around the corner from our apartment. Understanding that Florence is about meat not pasta/pizza we tried the Florentine Steak, a 1.2 kg steak shared between 3of us. It is a quick cook and much of it is rare, it was delicious. All of the food looked great coming out... More

Well, even I'm not Italian, the menu was in Italian language, and not all the waitresses know English. I ordered one of the 2 soups (as the lady getting the order told us so) it came a meaty souce, they changed it upon my request. The second 'soup' was made of white beans a little bit juicy but not a... More

We agree with all the glowing reviews-fabulous, authentic food, great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful explaining the entire menu in English, good house wine and all very reasonably priced. Our best meal in Florence! And it is called "Ristorante del Fagioli".

We picked the place as it was recently rated as Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2014. We went there for lunch, no pre-booking. Some locals (Italian speaking) built the trust further. Although they had Italian only menu, the staff is helpful and with a "succulent" English explained all the food. The menu card includes traditional fiorentina food, soups ( with bread... More

So So. I think the draw is that Del Fagioli offers very traditional fare and environment. Basically it's meat and pasta. Very basic; don't look for innovation. Literally, I ordered the special stuffed meatballs, and received pretty underwhelming, somewhat dry meatballs and potatoes. I'm still waiting to taste whatever was stuffed inside. The ambiance is masculine asthetic, the biggest draw... More

It's a bit of a toss up between which florentine steak we liked more, the one at Fagioli or Sostanza (see my other review). I would say that they were both absolutely delicious, but if you want a roomier restaurant with better decor/ambience, then go for Fagioli. The service is a bit slow as the restaurant is very busy, but... More

For a start, the servers glared at you when you entered the restaurant, as if daring you to enter to add more work for them. Recommendations by the server was unimpressive. Nothing that you can't get at touristy spots. Not worth the trip.
