We enjoyed our meal at Dante well enough- but with so many amazing choices in Florence (particularly in the Oltrarno area), it was average at best. Having said that, my daughter loved her pizza and I got a kick out of the hint of Chef Boyardee flavours which provided a blast from the past (along with the cheesy 80's music...... More

Somewhat put off by the menu with a Union Jack on the page with English translations, nevertheless this was a lovely homely place and perfect for our first night in florence as a family of 4. Just good quality Italian food. The best choice seemed to be the Tagliatele with Porcino Mushrooms and Truffle chosen by my youngest child. I... More

I often come to Florence and I can say that it is not easy to find a restaurant where you can eat really well. Dante Restaurant is a place where you want to return. They have the meat that melts in your mouth! It's delicious! There I ate the best tiramisù! The waiters are very friendly. At the end of... More

The space it self is average, easy ambience could be ok if the music wasn't very loud, horrible taste and totally inadequate (Tecno-pop-hits from the nineties), the food was mediocre and finally, with a bill of 24€ (we just asked for two dishes and water) we were surprised with a 5€ service charge (2.5 € per person),which is about 20%... We visted Dante's on a Thursday night around 7:30 and did not have to wait for a table - although the restaurant filled by 8. We ordered bruschetta, two pizzas and the house wine and our tab was about 60 euro. The complimentary bread (salted with olive oil...so good) and liqueurs at the end of our meal were a nice... More

My wife and I have eaten here a few times, and our friends in Florence really love this place. It's popular and not too expensive. The pizza is great, perfectly cooked thin crusts, not too much toppings, with a nice yeasty finish. The pastas are great, I like the veal ravioli with a sage butter sauce. Stick with the house... First, I lived in Florence for a little over two months. Second, I dated a local. He would go with me. That is always a good sign. When ordering, you want the tagliatelle ai funghi porcini e crema di tartufo. Truffle cream sauce and mushrooms over pasta. It is divine. I also love their quattro stagione ("four seasons") pizza. Any... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant! The owner was charming and the food (we had regular meals, not pizza) was delicious. We enjoyed the ambiance and the food so much that we went back the next evening!

The Pizzeria is just across the Arno, reservations are highly recommended. We had pizza (excellent) and salad, along with a nice tuscan chianti. Affordable prices (incl coffee and starter 32 EUR pp).
