Hidden place with good food

I went here with my friends and the food was good. I had cheese with mustarda (spicy jam/sauce) which was something new for me. For the main course I had lamb which was huuge! My friend had pasta with butter sauce which was amazing; I'll order that next time. The tagliata looks really good too. I... read more

Delicious. I got the sea bass and my wife got a ragu. Both were very good. Each meal cost about 10 euros. The atmosphere was busy and fun. It was a great experience.

We had spent 3 days previously in Bologna which we fully enjoyed- here we found this trattoria- central, great food, Italian local atmosphere and relatively inexpensive. We were very well looked after by Anita who was superb on all of our visits. She spoke great English and gave us sound advice what to have to eat. Beef with peppercorn -... More

We went here to try the celebrated bisteca and were not disappointed; The place is bustling and raucus, with a lot of atmosphere. Some tourists but also a lot of locals and 'regulars'. Service was efficient, and the waiter had no problem letting us share the enormous single portion (700gr) of T-bone.

I eat at Marione at least once a year, this last time with a colleague for our Xmas lunch. Proved once again very good and Worth its cost. Traditonal Florentine cooking at its best.

A little bit far from the chaos of the tiny central streets (but still just 5 min from Piazza della Repubblica), this typical restaurant is the ideal choice if you want to taste the real florentine food. We had sheep cheese with honey and mustard as appetizer and a Ribollita and Pappardelle with boar ragù as mains...absolutely amazing! Make sure... More

We knew we were in for a winner when there was a queue half an hour before service started at 7pm. Although about 40 people were waiting to get in, they easily fit us all in. The service was faultless and the food was delicious. My husband and I had the penne ragu and fresh papardelle with wild boar with... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
