In a couple words: a sheer delight. I started with the drunken spaghetti , made with red wine and garlic, the restaurant 's signature pasta dish. I have never had such a pasta before and would love to get the recipe. For my main, I had the only chicken dish on the menu: three parts of chicken baked in foil... More

Ordered pasta both of us and ended up with a small portion worth 10eur (average price of a pasta dish as far as i could see) and dry on top of it. The dish looked like reheated from microwave.

Thrice I've been to Florence, and thrice I've been here. Osteria de' Benci has never disappointed - quality of meat is top notch, and even gigantic 1.4kg T-bone steaks are cooked to perfection. The house chianti, despite being terribly affordable, is delicious with the steak. While the Chianina Fiorentina may seem expensive at €55/kg, it was well worth the price... More

I have been eating in this restaurant many times. The first time was 20 years ago. Here you can find a friendly and fun atmosphere. The manù is tuscan cuisine with some additions from other italian regions like Macceroncetti alla Gricia (one of my favourite!). In my opinion you must try: Large plate of cold meats, chicken liver crostini, bacon,... More

We stopped here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Very warm welcome from the owner and delicious food all round. We had the amazing pasta cooked in red wine and garlic and also the Florentine steak which was probably some of the very best I have tasted, and I have eaten a lot of steak. It's what you... More

When visiting, we happened to visit the Osteria De'Benci on our first night in Florence. After being cordially greeted at the door, we enjoyed a spectacular meal and the best table wine of all of the restaurants we tried. Not to say the wine was five star by any means, but it was drinkable and fairly tasty. Still, the meat... More

We visited here on the first night of out trip and it really set the bar high for the rest of the holiday. We had antipasti of meats which was lovely but not needed as we ordered the florentine steak. We had one to share and it was huge! It was cooked beautifully (very rare) nicely seasoned. Perfection. We had... More

This a true tuscan place in Florence where you can enjoy great food in a nice environment with a fair price. You can taste several dishes not always easy to find in other places.

This lovely osteria is what one imagines it would be like dining in Florence. It served more locals than tourists. My friends and I dined here on two separate occasions and were never disappointed with the food. Considering that one of us was a big meat eater, another gluten-intolerant, and, myself, a vegetarian, we do not always come to agreement... More
