Well worth a stop

If you're near Ponte Vecchio and you want to take a break from the endless flow of tourists (of which you might be a part yourself, of course) with a nice glass of wine and good-quality tusan finger food, I suggest you give this place a shot. The decor won't exactly make you feel giddy, but if you... read more

This place is always my favourite to have wine, a great selection of wine specially local Italian wine from small and big wineries. If I am in Florence I will always visit them at least for one time.

Recommended to us, we booked an evening table for drinks here, and would probably have missed out on a table if we hadn't. It's only a small place, but very popular. There's a great selection of wine, all reasonably priced by the glass or bottle. Staff more than happy to recommend drinks to accompany the food. We both had crostinis,... More

I found this lovely place when spending a few months in Florence last year and made sure to return when I was on vacation this year. The ambience and the wine selection are excellent. Every time I went I would let them pick a wine for me. I sampled so many different wines and each one was delicious, from the... More

We stumbled upon this small cafe by chance and it were thrilled we did. Our waiter recommended some good, dry white wines for us to try which were delicious and very refreshing in the hot June heat. Food wise we opted for insalata calabrese and anchovie bruschetta - both of which were simple but delicious. I would definitely recommend this... More

Tucked off the Ponti vechio down a side street off tiny square. Man server not so helpful even though we had reservations for appertif. He was not helpful and even smeared us in wrong direction saying no warm bread with melted cheese and ham..but they brought it out and then he was like oh okay. We were dressed appropriately...nice hotel... More

Once we discovered this place we did not go anywhere else for lunch. It is conveniently located just over the Ponte Vecchio (south side). It is quite small with half a dozen tables or so and specialises in cheeses, cold meats and wine. I think the only 'cooking' they do is toasted crostone. What they do though is delicious -... More

After an afternoon exploring the Boboli Gardens we stopped in here. We sat inside and just watched the preparation of the small plates. We ordered the 5 Italian cheese with mustards and honey. The mustards were not spicy at all but more of a jam flavor. We were so pleased and found it all very relaxing. It is a great... More

I've gone to Le Volpi e L'Uva every time I'm in Florence, which is a couple of times a year, and my only gripe is that I end up drinking too much and buying too much wine, which isn't really the fault of Ciro and Carlo, but a testament to the quality of their wine and food. Ciro has curated... More

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of going to Le volpi e l'uva. If we lived in Florence, this would probably be one of the places we'd spend many evenings enjoying the food, wine, and the area. We had a wonderful cheese plate and wine. Our waitress, who spoke very good English, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
