Good food with reasonable price. Personnel was friendly and professional. There was even given some tips for choosing menu without being too persuasive.

The first time that my wife and I visited Florence in 2009 with the kids, we were lucky enough to stumble across La Posta on our first night in the city. The owner of the ristorante made us feel extremely special [complementary champagne, flowers for my wife and two daughters, two handfuls of fresh cherries for my son before we... More

Stumbled across this little side street restaurant near the Palazzo Vecchio, ordered the florentine steak and it was amazing so tasty and thick cooked to perfection. The waiters were also great with my 3 yr old son, made us all feel so welcome.

I don't think you can get a bad meal. The wait staff has been there for a long time and were very helpful in deciding what to get. They had great wine choices also. I had the Ravioli every time I went because I loved it but my husband had seafood and several other things. We went a couple of... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Pierre located right accross the street. We had very friendly service and the food was very good. The server was very professional and treated us with much respect. Would recommend to anyone when in the area.

Dining in Italy- specifically in Tuscany- is serious business. Many years ago a good friend who is in fact from Italy recommended La Posta to us and we have been going there ever since. When we began to visit the restaurant really only had a local dining crowd which meant a lot to us. Years later the restaurant is much... More

Our driver who took us from Livorno to Florence reccommended La Posta and our party of four had an excellent meal with a varied menu, reasonably priced. Service was very good also, and we moved outside to complete our experience for coffee.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
