Surprisingly excellent

Walking around the streets of Florence we were looking for the perfect place for dinner. After checking the menu upfront and the atmosphere (pretty sad) we were just too tired to look for something else. The food was pretty good but didn't go a bundle on the ambience - it was a quiet evening but the waiter just made us feel as though we were a bit of an imposition. We only went for a single course each and a glass of wine. On a positive note, it was November and we were able to... More

I had the veal scalope but my husband had the steak florentine and says it was the best he had on the trip. I have food allergies and the staff was very thoughtful and really helped.

The quality of the products is above-the-par with other restaurants. Its traditional Italian food is masterly cooked, along with a memorable cheesecake. Their advice for food-pairing with wine is great too. The whole atmosphere is very agreeable. I will come again! You can even get to meet with the family that has been running it for two generations already... Please... More

This old school restaurant has the highest quality products you can get. Anything in the many is just perfect, exquisite... The service is excellent. The terrace is just unforgettable, so romatic. No many places left like La Posta.

Claire Hennessy of Boutique Florence brought us here for lunch to sample traditional italian fare. The locale is small and very busy. It is cozy and you might share a table with another couple. We sampled a plate of cured meats - the sorpressata being the favorite which was very home made, flavorful and rustic. We had hand made pastas... More

Our driver booked lunch for us here and the service was excellent. My husband is in a wheel chair and the waiter immediately took over and made him comfortable. The bruschetta with mozzarella and tomatoes was fresh and very tasting. I enjoyed my veal and my husband thought the spaghetti with clam sauce was good. Tried a local white and... More

The place looked beautiful and that was as far as the compliments go. We were greeted with the rudest waiter I've yet to see. We asked for a recommendation out of two of the dishes and we got "ones fish, ones steak" in an obviously irritated tone. We finished ordering and the menus were almost snatched from us and cutlery... More

After visiting the Uffizzi Gallery, we wanted to get away from the noise and the crowds before heading to San Lorenzo market area. We wandered down the street and came upon La Posta, just getting ready to open for lunch. They were very nice and let us sit at an outside table and brought us drinks while we paroosed the... More

We were looking for a restaurant for dinner and stopped for a look at this menu. They did not have carbonara on the menu, but said they could make it for me. So we sat down. They had the BEST carbonara I have ever had. Very tasty. Mind, the price of the beers and drinks was enough to stop a... More
