Never felt so welcome in a restaurant before!

My husband and I stopped in here on a frigid, rainy day for an early dinner. We were really more interested in drying out and warming up. but found this establishment to be very hospitable and the food was quite good. The proprietress came to our table as we were preparing to leave and brought us... read more

The waiters completely ignored us although we were queuing as was requested. Then we were treated quite rude because we didn't speak Italian. Even locals left because they were ignored. Worst of all: there was no restroom available.

We stop to La Posta for quick lunch at last day of our vacation. We both eat pasta and both pastas were delicious. Outside terace with heaters was very nice even it was Noverber. Service was good, and price of lunch was reasonable. One of best pastas at this vacation...

We sat outside on a rainy evening here for a meal. The service was very average which unfortunately matched the food. Will not be going back.

Wonderful florentine steak (first we've ever had). Great service! Bill was 200€ for 4 people with a bottle of wine and 2 starters. Recommend if you don't mind spending a little cash.

We were not sure what to expect but we were very pleased. The food was all delicious and the service excellent. Fresh grilled mushrooms excellent veal in several versions. Sauces were fantastic. Appetizers tasty. We couldn't find any reason to complain and would visit on another trip here.

We went there late on a Saturday night, so it was not crowded. The service was fine and fast. The food was way better than what I expected. But I think it should be crazy in the rush hour, it's nearby the tourist places (Duomo) and they add 10% for the service (which seems to be normal in Italy).

Even in October, the heated outdoor area is romantic and pleasant. The service was excellent, the food very good, although I had to send back my "rare" steak because it was medium well. But they replaced it without a hesitation.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
