A dish to remember (see paragraph 2)

What a great restaurant. Beautifully decorated, service is excellent and the food is fantastic. We had the steak and the fish, everything was excellent.

Recommended by a taxi driver. Sceptical at first, we went to check the menu. And decided to try it. And what an excellent surprise. It is very difficult to find a very good average priced restaurant in big tourist cities in Italy, but this broke the norm. Very good wine list. The fagottini stuffed with pears with taleggio sauce was... More

Our friends recommended this highly, and it was even better than we were told. It's a bit off the beaten track, but has lovely indoor and outdoor seating on a small quaint square about a 5 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio bridge. It was so wonderful we returned for a second visit. On the first visit, we sat inside... More

Was recommended to us and we ate at lunchtime here on two occasions.great staff, an Italian language menu ( which they happily translated). Enjoyed squid, grilled vegetables and fish on the bone. Also great wine at a reasonable price. Inside is atmospheric andbe sure to check out the photos on the walls of their more famous diners, including Dustin Hoffman... More

We were advised to go here but our Italian hotel owners, who said that this is where they always eat. It is proper Italian food. We did some research before we visited and the pictures of celebs such as Mauro Bergamasco amongst others are a good advert for the place. The restaurant is about 3 minutes walk from the Ponto... Trattoria 4 Leoni. In a quiet and beautiful piazza, steps from the Pitti Palace, on the south part of the Arno river. The food is very good. Don't miss the bistecca fiorentina, especially with a Montepulciano red wine! - Fabulous!!! and also the mozarella with the eggplant. Fresh food and a real Italian experience. Service was really nice (especially regarding... More

Great local spot. Make sure you make reservations! They have an outdoor seating area, so if you want to sit outside make sure you specify on your reservation. One of the best meals we ate in Florence! The entire menu is in Italian, but most of the servers speak English and will be happy to translate for you! We got... More

Located in a small friendly square with occasional street performer entertainment, 4 Leoni is a pleasant neighborhood restaurant with sizeable Italian portions. Food is tasty Tuscanian fare, but nothing too inventive. I recommend it for quieter dining than in central Florence. Prices are good value for money, but cover charge (3 euros per person) is quite high. Book a table... More

We arrived as the first guests for lunch, at noon. Quick service, nice food and seems very popular from the flow of guests. Minus: on and off a smell from dry street gutters. Plus: very nice house sallad.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
