Good selection of excellent food, service a bit hit & miss

We ate here twice on the recommendation of our local personal tour guide. It's in a very quaint area of the Oltrarno and both times we sat inside as it was so hot outside! DELICIOUS food - pastas, salads, meats, antipasto.... great everything. Good wine selection - we got the house wine several times and it was delicious, both the red and white. You MUST try the pear & pecorino ravioli if it is your first time, the restaurant is famous for it. Served in a white cream sauce, incredible - one of the... More

I had dined at Trattoria 4 Leoni in 2013 and had a pretty good experience except the waiter "encouraged" us to tip. This most recent visit our server was attentive but he seemed very stressed. Our steaks were poorly cooked - both over cooked and dry - which is surprising for Florence since most steaks are cooked rare or medium... More

38 degrees and a fractious overheated 3 year old where do you go? We were only in Florence for half a day so a successful and stress free lunch was critical, an Italian friend had recommended this place and I have to say the best food and service of our 10 day Italian Rivera stay. So here goes. We sat... More

We went out looking for another place and could not find it. It looked like a great spot but we did not have a reservation. They took us in and gave us a table that had a reservation within two hours. We were pleased they accommodated us and obliged to finish in time. Well, the service was exceptional. Two complimentary... More

With our family of four we spend our first night in Florence. What a start! Lovely food and service. We wanted to revisit but too busy. Recommended!

typical trattoria style,a little cramped but your taste buds are in for a treat. This is the real thing. My suggestion is ask for the pasta of the day with truffles if they're in season. The Lombatini Di Vitella is the best veal chop I have had anywhere. Bon apertito!

Hidden in a small relatively unknown Piazza Della Passera on the Palazzo Pitti side of the Arno River, this restaurant has the best salad I have had in Florence. All salads served at restaurants are fresh, but this one is unbelievable. Known for their ravioli stuffed with pears and cheese in a delicate white sauce is delicious. Chow!

This trattoria was on a small plaza close to our apartment, and is right next to a very good, very small ice cream place. We had a number of appetizers and then tried the pear ravioli. While it wasn't fantastic, it was very good, better than other more touristy restaurants in Florence.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
