Quintessentially Michelin starred, yet ...

Let's start from the good things: food preparation was extremely accurate and the quality of raw materials certainly above average (although the lamb was marginally to chewy). Service was a bit clumsy, but all in all acceptable: kindness was being displayed without reservations. The décor was kind... read more

We had a really nice meal at the terrace, the food was excellent, but the service was a bit of a problem. But the wine was what made it all perfect.

I had dinner at this restaurant earlier in the month whilst visiting Italy from Bahrain with my in-laws. Upon arriving, my fear of driving in dimly lit roads in the dark quickly dissipated as I soaked in the calm and welcoming atmosphere around me. We were shown to our table, and presented with menus. I sat there almost wishing we... More

We were here with a group of 8 a few weeks ago. It's not easy to reacht, as the roads are narrow. But it was worth the ride. And yes, the food is more expensive then in other restaurants in the area. But if I compare it to similar restaurants back home, it's good value. Had the best pasta I... More

Let's start from the good things: food preparation was extremely accurate and the quality of raw materials certainly above average (although the lamb was marginally to chewy). Service was a bit clumsy, but all in all acceptable: kindness was being displayed without reservations. The décor was kind of kitschy, and the ambient music being played too invasive (after this dinner... More

The Il Falconiere estate is not easy to find, being tucked away down a narrow country lane, but once you are there, it's worth the effort. We have visited several times and have never been disappointed. The welcome from staff is wonderful, Silvia and Riccardo are truly genuine people, Anna Maria is so helpfu and the maitre d' completes the service.... With so many fantastic restaurants in Cortona, Il Falconiere is not somewhere that I would pay a second visit. We dined there with a group of ten on our last night together in Italy, and it felt clear from the service that we were negatively judged from the moment we arrived. Aside from the maitre d' who was welcoming and... More

The wedding was the most magnificent event we've ever been to. It was BEYOND beautiful, so thoughtful, so romantic; every detail was perfection. The food was AMAZING, the wines and sparkling wines from their OWN vineyards were the DIVINE, the staff delightful, the service gracious, the music, the decor, the flowers, the FIREWORKS!! We felt like we were at a... More

During the Summer months dinner is taken on the terrace of the hotel looking out over the plain and towards Cortona on the brow of the hill. The waiting staff are long term employees, well versed in the composition of the meals and able to answer questions about the dishes. The wines are of course the excellent Baracchi wines from... Service, food and creativity! I loved Silvia's dishes, especially the taste and presentation. The combination with the Wines from the resort were unbelievable, I loved their new white wine UT, which is the Latin word for the musical note DO
