Charming place with excellent steak and moderate pasta

Cortona on a Sunday is a busy place and we stumbled across this little gem. Delightful ambiance and a lovely server. The pasta dishes were nice but not fabulous with large portions....The steak was outstanding!

location is a bit out of the way - relative to other places in the touristic city center - in that it is somewhat-hidden on a small downsloping side street. that was exactly why we went - very few other people to contend with. and thus in part, service was nice. i also like the decor and feel of the... Easter day is not an easy one to find a place to eat in Cortona. We got there the day before and were lucky enough to find the last table available at Bottega dell'Oste, a place we know well from before and where we are always happy to come back. We fell in love years ago with this place for... More

A nice restaurant in Cortona, Vicolo Mancini. Not easy to find, unless you notice the sign on Via Dardano, on the left heading north from Piazza Signorelli towards Porta Colonia (more or less halfway). We have been there several times, and will be there for new year's eve. Years ago they had a great tagliata served with fresh fruit (grapes... More

I checked into my hotel and immediately walked to see if this, my favorite, restaurant was open. I had to wait 2 days but I was thrilled to see them open! I had yet another amazing meal. I just can't say enough great things about this place. The prices are great... The lovely woman who serves me is so nice... More

We really pride ourselves in finding spots off the beaten tourist track and this spot was marvelous. Serena, the waitress, was very helpful and courteous. Make sure you make the effort if want to eat authentic local food in a delightful setting within the wall city of Cortona.

Service was nice, but the food quality was quite low. We had an antipasto plate with mixed salumi and cheese and pasta with tartufo as well as with funghi porcini. We wouldn't go there another time.

This restaurant is not hard to find, but it is a little off of Cortona's beaten path. We dined here on the strength of other Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. We sat at one of the small, terraced tables across the narrow street from the entrance to the restaurant and that proved to be an excellent spot, with... More

I write this one month after we ate at La Bottega Dell'Oste. I wanted to give my thoughts time to age; I did not want to be overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the moment. Recently we spent nineteen days in Italy, including one week in Cortona. On our last night in Cortona, seeking to get away from the areas most... More

I am surprised that I don't see more recent, positive reviews of this restaurant. We walked by during the day and the menu looked interesting and the setting really special. It is on a side road off of the Piazza Signorelli on corner with pretty tables outside and in. When we stopped to look at the menu, the staff were... More
