Wonderful Authentic Family run Tuscan Restaurant

Elegant flavors, light and simple. You taste the family kitchen in every bite. Pici pasta with Bolonaise, fennel and orange rind salad, pork sausage with cherry tomatoes. Definitely returning but will have a hard time trying anything different!

We ate here three times, returning each time because the previous meal was so good and we loved the welcoming owner, Paola, and her staff. The vegetable souffle was wonderful, as was a shared plate of tagliatelli w/ porcini and the grilled salciccia. Nothing was a problem to prepare - type of pasta, sauce, vegetables - and all was delicious.... More

This restaurant was recommended by concierge in Cortona. It was the favorite of most of our group of places we dined. Food, atmosphere, prices were a step above other places we dined. Would definitely recommend it.

Wow .. what fun we 4 had in our cooking class with Paola, owner of Locanda Pozzo Antico. We learned to make bread dough and pasta dough .... all of which we 'stretched' to make various recipes including cantucci, dinner rolls, bruschettas, pizza, etc. Then the easy sauces to complement each which we ate for lunch. Paola made it all... More

I return to Cortona often and always enjoy at meal here! Truffles are in season! Beef with chianti sauce! Cinghiale wild boar pasta! Don't forget dessert, chocolate torte and homemade sorbetto!

Italy has a reputation for good food but some places stand out as better than average. Paula takes an interest in her diners as well as the food she presents. It was worth wandering down a side street to find this little gem. If you've never tried bacalau this is place to be adventurous. It was delicious. And the homemade... More

Locanda al Pozzo Antico is on a little side street not far from the Piazza Repubblico and is so worth finding. We went there twice on our week stay...all of our choices were so full of flavor. We ate so slow just to savor those flavors. They have several rooms...ask for the courtyard! They even finished the meal with a... More

A very welcoming restaurant, nothing fancy just honest good food cooked and served by lovely people. We ate in the courtyard but we have been here a few times and the dining rooms are nice as well. Varied menu and good food well presented and tastes great. We will return Paula. Thank you.

I have been to Cortona in the summer for the last four years, and Paola's restaurant (Locanda al Pozzo Antico) is the one I find myself longing for all year long when I'm home in NY. We were there for a week last month in August, and we ate there five times (both lunch and dinners). I've been to the... More
