Good food -

This was probably the best meal I had in Cortona, Rustic yet a little more refined than most. Had pasta with a delicious wild-boar ragu, Slow roasted pork with fried artichokes and an amazing warm chocolate type cake. Nice wine selection. Rick Steve's & Hotel Italia Recommendation! On the first night we ate here on recommendation. It's everything you would expect in italy. A restaurant run by husband and wife, I felt like I was at a relative's house. We sat outside in the atrium, which was very beautiful at night. The best mushroom risotto and homemade pasta I ever had.... More

We're not card-carrying "foodie,s" but this was the best dinner we had in the two weeks we spent in Tuscany (a lot of close 2nds!). All four of us were very happy with our diverse choices. Family operated, next door to their Dolce Maria B&B.

This is a beautiful restaurant that serves excellent food a a fairly hefty price, but reasonable considering the level of service provided. The food was beautifully presented and always delicious but the wait between courses was excessively long. It was very clean and the wine selection was outstanding as were the menu choices.

Family place with very friendly service. Not very big though. Made me feel like I was eating a dinner at a relative's place. Did not really want dolci but owner saw me eyeing the cantucci and vin santo on an adjoining table brought me some on the house.

We walked into this restaurant and immediately felt like family, which was a great feeling. We had a very delicious meal and my "coeliac requirements" were well looked after. They made something that was not even on the menu! We were even given complimentary "cantucci with vin santo" which is a traditional Tuscan biscuit dipped in the vin santo. Cannot... More

This restaurant appears to have 2 small rooms. It is located down a back alley a small distance away from the main action of Cortona. The husband and wife team are splendid hosts to help you navigate quite a menu. The started of what seemed to be freshly made fine pastry with pecorino cheese and ham was divine. The chicken... Just off the tourist trail, this restaurant offers real Tuscan fare at moderate prices, all served graciously. Of particular note in our group of 4 were the ribolita, tagliatelle with ragu' chingale, risotto porcini, cold meat appetizer, and the panna cotta. House wine was an excellent choice for the price.

Started with the soup and salad, both were excellent. My husband had the pork & I the lemon chicken. Both very good but my husband felt that the pork was a bit under-seasoned. You must try the molten chocolate cake......the best! I even used my finger to lick the bowl & was caught by the owner. Fun and lively atmosphere.... More

such a great meal in an historic place with great ambience and food. You can also stay here. The service was attentive and friendly and the food very good for vegetarians and vegans. We ate inside the tower, with the sky above us, but you can also eat indoors.
