My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding meal at Locanda al Pozzo Antico. The food was excellent, but the service blew us away. We did not order dessert, but our server treated both of us to complimentary vin santo with biscotti. After we finished it, the owner brought us another complimentary dessert. They were wonderful and gracious. They made us... More

If you're looking for an excellent restaurant in Cortona try the Locanda al Pozzo Antico Ristorante. The food and service are both superb. The owner- cook and her husband are so gracious and they go all out to make this a very special dining experience. Try the bistecca, outstanding. They also run the B&B Dolce Maria next door to the... We turned a corner and headed down a narrow street and stumbled upon this quaint local spot. Family ran, extremely well operated... The food was excellent, service was attentive and friendly with a true Italian feel. When we left, the chef, the owner and our kind waitress all made a point to thank us personally, a truly memorable experience.

We had an excellent Sunday lunch at Locanda al Pozzo Antico. We arrived at about 1 p.m. and by 2 p.m. the place was completely full of locals, which tells you something right there. Many customers were digging in to the huge Florentine grilled steaks which seemed to be the draw on a Sunday afternoon. My husband and I ate... More

We ate at several places in Cortona and this was by far our favorite. I'm still thinking about the fennel and orange salad. Wonderful, thoughtful service, fantastic food. Chef Paola was charming and came out to greet us at the end - we were delighted to learn that she offers cooking classes, just another reason to return to Cortona and... More

We trusted Rick Steve's recommendation of the restaurant and we're not disappointed! Paola was a wonderful host. We ordered the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms--amazing pasta! The polenta with wild boar was very tasty as were the sausage with potatoes. The house wine was a great compliment. We just added a few contorni-side dishes-to round out lunch. The mixed salad, fennel... More

By far...one of the best. I enjoyed learning their recipes and Simona and Paola were excellent guides through the Tuscan kitchen. I hope to return to Cortona again soon and experience more! The class was priced very reasonable as opposed to others in Cortona...a great choice. Thank you again, Simona and Paola!

Spent a week in Cortona and ate at many restaurants, including some rated higher. This was our favorite. Risotto with truffles was extremely arromatic and had perfect texture. Returned on our last night to have it again and wasn't disappointed. Only regret was that we didn't have room for panna cotta. Took a cooking class here; more reasonably priced than... More
