Paula is great, always

We have been going to Pozzo Antico for several years whenever in Cortona and this trip was no exception. Both visits were outstanding and we cannot say enough about how friendly Paula is when we dine. The food is exceptional and could now be the best in Cortona.

Good home cooked Tuscan food, in a charming courtyard setting. Knowledgeable friendly service. Fabulous wine recommendations. The best (freshly made that morning) biscotti ever eaten!

When you dine here - one of the owners -Paola is the chef! When I was eating there was a group of American/ English eating and she took wine from her private collection and served them! She also has a B &B with a door that leads you inside -if you ask to stay ? And it has availability! Good... More

This is like your neighborhood standby back home. Excellent food ,authentic family restaurant. You always feel welcome, Paola is there to greet you and you feel like you just left. Typical Tuscan food but well prepared and always with something special on the menu so that it doesn't get boring.

Visiting the hill top towns of Tuscany there are many many restaurants, but this stands head and shoulders above all of them. Ignore the guidebooks telling you to go to the pseudo Michelin place around the corner visit this one. The family run it in a friendly and professional manner. The cooking is stupendous, you will not eat better, and... More

Elegant flavors, light and simple. You taste the family kitchen in every bite. Pici pasta with Bolonaise, fennel and orange rind salad, pork sausage with cherry tomatoes. Definitely returning but will have a hard time trying anything different!

We ate here three times, returning each time because the previous meal was so good and we loved the welcoming owner, Paola, and her staff. The vegetable souffle was wonderful, as was a shared plate of tagliatelli w/ porcini and the grilled salciccia. Nothing was a problem to prepare - type of pasta, sauce, vegetables - and all was delicious.... More

This restaurant was recommended by concierge in Cortona. It was the favorite of most of our group of places we dined. Food, atmosphere, prices were a step above other places we dined. Would definitely recommend it.

Wow .. what fun we 4 had in our cooking class with Paola, owner of Locanda Pozzo Antico. We learned to make bread dough and pasta dough .... all of which we 'stretched' to make various recipes including cantucci, dinner rolls, bruschettas, pizza, etc. Then the easy sauces to complement each which we ate for lunch. Paola made it all... More
