The place is nice in the main street, but the food served is terrible, does not represent absolutely Italian cuisine.
What a gem. We happened across this while wandering around Cortona and we were so impressed we ate there both lunch and dinner! The bruschetta is a must, really delicious. There are plenty of great choices at really reasonable prices and big servings. They are generous with their wonderful wines too which is always a bonus. Sidewalk cafe, sitting in... More
This is what Italy is all about. Relaxing in the sun and soaking up the atmosphere of a pavement café watching the world go by whilst enjoying delicious food and drink. This was without doubt one of the best restaurants we found on our recent trip to Tuscany and to see so many locals using it is always a good... More
Great Pasta, Great Bruschetta, Great Service .. what more do you want?! we were made to feel right at home, and the owner was very welcoming about giving out tips and advice for travelling through Italy. Limoncello was wow too. all in all a great restaurant in the heart of a beautiful town
Emma and Rob welcome you to their Restaurant as if you have been their friends for a long time. What ever you chose from the menu was always fantastic. My friends and I returned their many times over the 2 week period we were in Tuscany. Highly recommended for lunch, dinner or stop in for glass of wine and antipasto.
We came across this restaurant as we were walking down the street looking for a place to have lunch. It was just perfect. The service was great, food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was just perfect. It was inexpensive and I highly recommend for an afternoon lunch.
Our first visit to Cortona was in 2005, the year the Rob and Emma opened Bar 500 on the wonderful Ruga Piana in Cortona. We immediately found Bar 500 to be a place to stop for lunches, mid-afternoon snacks, and even dinners. We have returned every year since to our holiday spot in Cortona, including our most recent trip in... More
Emma and Rob were outstanding hosts and treated the five of us like close friends. Their food, atmosphere and value received was excellent. Highly recommended for lunch or inexpensive dinner.
We visited this Bar&restaurant having read some of the rave reviews here -- but were very disappointed! The food was overpriced for the quality, taste and presentation..
We arrived in Cortona on a warm sunny day and almost imediately spotted Bar 500. The pizzas and bruschettas on view all looked very appetizing so we decided to have lunch there. We were served by friendly English speaking member of staff, who immediately told us about our serving options, indicating that we could "chop and change" just about any... More
