Very nice location and very good

If you are planning a stop in Cortona, then try to eat in this restaurant. Location is perfect, facing one of the main squares, this little restaurant offers truly authentic dishes. Try the "pici", a typical Tuscan pasta or a nice little selection of local cold cuts.

In this restaurant the menu included items we had not seen elsewhere - Chianina beef, Guinea Fowl, fish from the nearby lake. The staff is attentive, the wine list is extensive and the food was lovely!

We were recommended to come to this restaurant by someone at a local vineyard. We were not disappointed. We came for lunch and were treated to good service, good food, and a great local atmosphere.

We were part of a group of ten enjoying the Thursday evening Prix Fixe menu at Taverna Pane e Vino. The five-course meal with perfect wine pairings could not have been better. The quality and quantity of the food, the attentiveness of the staff, and the warm atmosphere of the restaurant all far exceeded any expectations we had. The price... More

Having spent the last 7 summers in the Cortona area, we have no hesitation in saying that Pane e Vino is one of the best restaurants in the area. Arnoldo" the host with the most",is a most considerate person and always on hand to advise on wines and local food. We have enjoyed our visits so much that we are... More

Having been a slow food member for some years I was very much looking forward to Pane e Vino. The venue is really authentic and the atmosphere was great. A very wide selection of wines is available and the menu was well put together with plenty of delicious options. I was say it was a 'treat' place to go as... More

Just returned from a week in Cortona, this was the first place we ate and it was one of the best meals we had all week . If your looking for authentic homemade Italian food, not "Americanized" tourist food, then this is your restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed it so much that when... More

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and wine. We were made to feel welcome and the owner Arnaldo was very engaging and informative. His personal attention and service made this a highlight meal of our trip. We learned many things in our conversations with Arnaldo, and were able to therefore make an intelligent wine selection. This is the place to go... More

I have not dined here, but my wife and I stopped in one evening for a glass or two of wine. The service was excellent. The person behind the bar cut several pieces of the best pecorino cheese I've tasted and presented it to us on the house.

Every time when in the lovely town of Cortona, we visit Pane e Vino, located slightly hidden at one of the main squares, across from Teatro Signorelli. Like every time, we had a splendid diner yesterday, accompanied by some amazing wines. Arnaldo is a top host with a broad knowledge of wines (when interested, ask for the extended wine list)...
