Tucked away in the back streets of Cortona La Bucaccia is certainly worth finding. The dining area is quite small and table space is at a premium, my only complaint was that we seemed a bit cramped for space. I have eaten there several times and will return. The menu is quite different from the normal Tuscan choices and the... More

Stuck so close to the table next to me I could taste their food! The reviews state that this is the best place in cortona I would say the most over rated - please try another place the food was dated the service was poor & the owner very annoying

I recently experienced Italy for the very first time and was lucky enough to travel into the countryside to visit Cortona and find this gem. It was a group of 7 ladies (family) and we did not have a reservation. We were merely walking the streets and shopping the boutiques when we pulled it up on TripAdvisor once we were... More

Four of us Had dinner at La Bucaccia as we rely on Tripadvisor reviews which are usually right on. This restaurant is highly over rated and I would not recommend it to anyone. Tables are packed so tight my chair back was up against the chair behind me for the entire meal and neither of us could move without moving... More

If you are in Cortona this is a must visit. A friend and I went for lunch and it was so good we made a reservation to eat there that evening. The service was excellent and the food was even better. Romano is a total charmer, and he enriched our experience at the restaurant. Fresh proscuitto cut at the table,... More

We had read many positive reviews, and we were delighted that they did not disappoint! Definitely book a reservation, we turned up at 8pm without, and waited 45 minutes to sit. However the host, Romano, kindly gave us each a glass of red wine whilst we waited (on the house). We both ordered the 'Degustasion Michelin' for €29 pp and... More

We arrived at this restaurant to a full house and without a reservation. Romano, who is a terrific host (funny, personable, attentive despite a full house) went out of his way to squeeze us in without a reservation. The food was fabulous! A wonderful dish of veal stewed in sangiovese, fish carpaccio, incredible panacotta for desert, exceptional house wine. I... More

Our group of eight had a fantastic dining experience at La Bucaccia. Romano and his entire family provided a wonderful meal with a truly fabulous personal touch. This was our third visit to this restaurant, and it is not to be missed if you are in Cortona.

We have been in Tuscany for three days and have had three great meals. La Buccacia in Cortona stands above the other two. Agostina and Romano are perfectly complementary as a serious chef and a more carefree maitre d'/owner. To have Agostina take our order was both intimate and engaging. The cuisine was incredible. We had a wide range of... More
