Fantastic food, great service, how could you be disappointed, anyone with reviews sub-4 is silly and MUST GO BACK!!!

Romano was the bloke running the show and he was great, chirpy and very friendly, tho I must admit he looks like he's "The Don" of Tuscany, lol. We shared the thinly sliced raw beef for starter, then for main we had the sliced pork, truffle ravioli, grilled mixed veggies and beans (or as Romano... read more

This delightful restaurant is set high on the hill in Cortona and is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, until the time you leave you are treated with kindness and humour - one of the family really! The owner is such a character. He will have a sip of your wine or a taste of your bread,... More

Great dinner and staff for our first night in Cortona. The wine, being in Cortona, the food was fabulous.

Mamma mia, the owner of the restaurant greeted us with such enthusiasm I could only give it a 5-star rating before I even took a bite. Senore Romano delighted us (8 ) with such personal attention......slicing ham from a slab for each of us. He proceeded to order for us as he felt he knew what we would like........the pastas... Four of us went there for lunch it all started going pear shaped from the moment the waitress took our order and the owner interrupted her as he she was taking it. We ordered to mixed antipasti plates followed by pasta what happened then was definitely a seen out of faulty towers the pasta arrived before the antipasto and when... More

La Bucaccia in Cortona is pleasant to the eye with a nicely decorated interior. Service was also standard. Unfortunately the food that we tried was less pleasant. The wild piglet was partly over cooked and the sauce was too sour while lacking salt. The side dish, mushrooms, was served half cold, half warm. The pasta was decent taste wise but... More

We stopped in for lunch, and he was closing, but gave us a glass of wine. When I was looking at the menu and talking about his specials, he said he could do two quick pastas and carpaccio. Over an hour later, we were enjoying a wonderful tiramisu. The waitress and Senore Romano were so lovely, that we returned the... More

3 of us had dinner recently at the Bucaccia. I had been before and loved it. The food was very good, freshly cooked and tasty and the restaurant itself is small but very pleasant and charming. I would definitely recommend it for the food. The only slight problem we had was with the owner: during the whole time that we... More

Good food, good service with friendly waitresses, and good environment. The only problem may be the owner, Romano. Everything will depend on your proposal for the evening. If you are a group and willing to interact with him, then you chose the right restaurant. However, if your idea is a romantic dinner, maybe it would be better to choose another... More
