We had one lunch and two dinners in two days and if we had stayed longer in Mazzaro it would have been more. The first course with mixed raw marinated sea food was superb. Catch of the day showed and presented at the table as whole fish and than served as fillet. Beautiful view both day and night. The staff... More

Best view and food of our whole holiday! Sea food linguine incredible (tasty and full of quality prawns, squid etc.). Fried calamari also great (not just rings as in many other restaurants in Taormina). Salads large and full of flavour. Cheap and reasonably good house wine, otherwise good but not cheap wine-list. Friendly and prompt service.

The portions were very big, the rawmaterial used seemed first class, but the food was tasteless. And pls note, we hate spicy food and we love italian food where respect is shown by not overcooking or overseasoning. We happened to go for lunch, without reading reviews. I am extremely surprised to see this place as #11 when there are places... More

The great place to eat. It is necessary to make rezervation, if you want to have a pleasant dinner. The meal we liked most were griled lamb and sea food risoto. Home made tiramusu was also very good. Some people said, that here is the bets meal and atmosphere in whole Taormina and it is even better restourants which have... More

Went here based on TripAdvisor recommendations and well worth it. Set slightly up and back from the end of the beach, it was not easy to find but don't give up! Welcomed by the owner who talked through the wine list based on our expressed preferences and pointed us to a great Etna white. Food was delicious and the menu... More

We were told this is one of the best. Unfortunately we went on a cloudy day, so being by the water was not as appealing as it could have been. Had fresh fish. Good quality, but very bland. Did have a great bottle of Planeta Chardonnay, though.

after a long winding walk down what seemed like at least 100 stairs, we arrived at this lovely restaurant on the water. we opened with fried ravioli and jumbo shrimp (best we ever ate) followed by entrees of veal marsala (sweet wine and tender veal) and grilled fish plate (whole sea bass, swordfish fillets, calamari, and 2 skewers of shrimp.... Eventually found this restaurant, tucked away by the boats, by following the signage and descending 123 steps! Excellent meal and varied wine selection. Very popular, so we were lucky to get the last outside table that had not been reserved. Charming atmosphere and quaintly lit.

Nice little restaurant next to the beach in Taormina and only 2 minutes away from the Garden Hotel where my wife and me stayed. Very romantic place and the guests are mainly couples. We first shared spaciatella con pesto al basilica, pistachio e gambaretti (pasta with basil pesto, pistachio and shrimps), and then shared cozze alla pescatora (mussels a la... More

On a cove at the picturesque bay of Mazzaro, a short and easy ride fron Taormina, is the delicious and adorable restaurant, Il Barcaiolo. It's your fantasy of a Mediterranean seaside place by the sea. The food is superb. The fish tastes like it was caught a minute before it was served. It's prepared simply and very well and portions...
