Wonderful spot

A real fish restaurant. If steps are a problem its a no go otherwise its a must go. Beat if you like fish. My sea bass was beautifully cooked. Might need to book though. We turned up in May early and only one or two tables left. Seemed very popular with the locals!

Despite the 122 steps down (and up!) this restaurant is well worth the climb from the street above. (You can probably walk to it along the beach too). Small and unpretentious it offers good home cooking and seafood so fresh that it almost winks at you from the plate! We shared a plate of the stuffed sardines to start with... More

Located on the romantic Mazzaro Beach, not that easy to find, but it is offering the best fish dishes in the area (in our opinon). We loved the wine as well!

You can smell the fish landed from the water's edge just below the restaurant, which is small and somewhat quirky in arrangement; but service is friendly, fish is fresh and well cooked.

We decided to go here on our anniversary and we were sure to get a reservation. Good thing, because it got crowded on that Friday night even though it was not high season. The wine selection was good. The view is definitely of the cove and you can watch the boatmen move their boats around on the beach. That part... More

This is an excellent fish restaurant. Everything it serves is simple and good, we had the best Minestrone soup ever in Italy and my wife particularly enjoyed the grilled Tuna. As has already been reported, this restaurant is somewhat difficult to find and should not be attempted by anyone who has difficulty with steps. The road is not a road... More

Not easy to find but worth the effort. Turn left from cablecar and follow coast road 150metres say then when road bends to left take minor road down to beach. Excellent seafood antipasti - a meal in itself and good wines.

On the day we arrived, our hotel advised us to go here. It was a good tip. Except for the stinging mosquitoes, we had a great night with good food.

The host at our small hotel recommended this restaurant and we arrived, with a reservation, on a Sunday. It was all Italians out for Sunday lunch and us (two Americans). The people couldn't have been nicer. The restaurant is tucked away in a little cove with a view of a beach that has fishing boats and swimmers and kids playing... More

The four of us had dinner at il Barcaiolo. The restaurant is a little bit hidden from the street as you have to go down the steps to the beach. However, this is well worth the walk. The restaurant is located in a small harbor and offers outside dining and the typical Italian food. We had lamb and mussels which... More
