Good food and friendly.

Worth barging through the hard sellers further up the street to this somewhat quieter restaurant. Really polite, discrete and friendly. Started with ricotta and the warm vegetables. Excellent. This picturesque restaurant is worth seeking out, tucked at the bottom of steps down a little alleyway. Fight your way through the other restaurants all trying to lure you in and you will be in for a treat. Food, setting and atmosphere all add up to make a perfect Sicilian experience.

The garden setting and the music (perfect selection at an appropriate volume) play important roles in the relaxing/romantic ambience here. The food is generally excellent and the the waiters do their job well. BUT: on our last visit, I ordered sea bass. I requested that the cooked fish be brought to me whole. It arrived already prepared, and the flesh... More

Tucked away from the streets, this restaurant is worth seeking out. We shared a beautiful mussels main, (which can be ordered piccante or marinare) and the meaty, crusted swordfish and gnocci with prawns really were main courses to remember. Perfect for couples. but there was also a large Italian party, with several young children with a reserved booking there that... More

Order the meatballs wrapped in lemon leaves and start with the octopus salad, the wine menu was crappy and they couldn't make a martini, but the food is great!

Returned to a'zammara this year having visited in 2013 and 2014. The restaurant has changed hands since last year, but it has not suffered from the change of ownership. My husband had the meatballs, as usual, and he loved them! Carbonara and parmigana side dishes were delicious. My daughter's pasta pomodoro was well received, for an extremely fussy eater, she... excellent food and service here, our second favourite restaurant in Taormina. As we ate early that evening it was rather quiet and lacked atmosphere but was filling up as we left

This was a lovely place to spend an evening. Away from the febrile atmosphere of the town and the constant danger from Vespa riding twelve year olds, this was fantastic. A decent collection of fresh fish, friendly staff and really well presented food. There was no sense of being rushed and real care was shown to meet our needs. Strongly... More

You may never notice this restaurant tucked away in a dead end with a few tables on the street, but go through the door and it is exactly what you would want to find in Sicily. A garden full of lemon trees and lights, surrounded by an old stone wall, such a beautiful setting. The food was fantastic and so... More
