Located down s small alley pff Main drag and passed a few touristy restaurant we found this restaurant. We have a most enjoyable meal: local specialities, good sized portion, attentive service and sensible pricing. There is a cover charge but no service charge which is getting more common practice across Italy.

Our table for 8 was positioned atop lit glass panels showcasing the archeological digs below the restaurant. The manager who serviced our table was very knowledgeable regarding the restaurant's history. Interesting as was most of the food -- Closing for the season shortly after we left -- been in business since the late 1980's (don't hold me to this) --... More

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we visited it twice on our last trip Taorimna. The pasta dishes are particularly good. I would suggested that you book to get a table in the garden. Donot worry if the weather turns a bit wet as they have a roof which can be used to ensure dinners are nice an dry unlike... More

Bueautiful place...romantic garden in the center of magic Taormina. Very close to all turistic restaurant but that one is not turistic one!!! Very friendly owner as well as all staff. We were this summer there three times, with friends, and we can say that we tasted almost everthing from menu.. Raw dishes:.fish and frutti di mare , are amazing, as... More

While looking downhill one of the small vailes off Via Umberto, we saw what looked like a pleasant looking restaurant. Mid way down this little street we were waylaid by two very loud and pushy waiters, who were trying to get us to eat at their restaurant which appeared quite full, cramped and hot. I pressed on to 'a Zammara... More

We really enjoyed our dinner here. All of our food was excellent and the soup out of this world! We were traveling with 3 children who can be pretty picky at times and even they really enjoyed their meal. The setting is absolutely beautiful as you are surrounded by orange trees and lots of soft lights. Beware, oranges DO fall... More

We recently visited A Zamara and it was a delightful experience. The ambience of the outside dining with the lights amongst the trees was magical. The food was first class and service was excellent. Certainly one of the best meals we had in our week in Taormina.

Having looked at other reviews we thought this would suit us. Not our cup of tea. Perhaps we made bad choices of dishes! Great staff food very average, pretty location!

This place was a huge disappointment. The worst meal we had in Taormina. Miserable service. I cannot believe how others can recommend. We will be passing this information back to Citalia who mistakenly still have this restaurant listed on their recommended list. Awful. Avoid- it does not reflect the general good food found in Taormina.

Overall we ate wonderfully well in Taormina - good thing we were only here for a week as there was too much damage being done to the waistline! With this in mind we struggled to decide on the venue for our last dinner as we didn't want to be left disappointed by a poor choice at the last minute. We... More
