Nice atmosphere but food was nothing special

This was one of five restaurants we dined at during our stay in Taormina. The interior had a nice ambience and the waiters were old-school professionals, but the food was variable and was of the much-of-a-muchness quality that seemed typical in the town.

This was part of a long planned trip with our friends David and Kate Hastings to tour south of Italy and Sicily embracing Italy’s years of history and culture along with the current. To do this we asked Planetrail to plan our whole trip which started with a flight to Rome where we stayed for three nights at the Hotel... More

The restaurant was half empty but the service seemed chaotic. Too much time was spent on getting the waiters attention, for example, we had to ask for water three times. Involtini was nothing special (not bad though), shrimp-appetizer was a bit overpriced for what you get and the swordfish was overcooked by far. Panna cotta and tiramisu were quite average.... More

Traveling alone and keen to try some fresh, amazing, Sicilian seafood... This restaurant did not disappoint! Friendly service, fresh seafood and amazing mussels and spaghetti with sea urchin. The fishermen were delivering seafood as I sat at the restaurant still wearing gumboots. FRESH!!!!!

My son and I came upon this great restaurant while walking through the lovely twisting streets of Taormina. We were drawn in by the wonderful display of fresh fish in front of the restaurant. The food was delicious, the Etna Bianco was great and service friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our relaxing dinner and will visit again when in Taormina.

I don't normally leave bad reviews but felt I needed to in this instance. We dined in a dozen restaurants while in Taormina and they were all exceptional bar this one, which stood out for it's terrible service. Our starter of Tuna Carpaccio was expensive but tasted ok and arrived quickly - good start. However, our other starter never turned... More
