OK, but nothing special

On Corso Umberto, this restaurant obviously has great views - but not at night. The decor was fine, as were the friendly staff. We dined there one evening, but found the food was not the quality of smaller, family-run restaurants in Taormina. Prices for antipasti and main courses, with decent wine... read more

We popped into the Granduca for a quick lunch time pizza anticipating that we would book it again for a more formal dinner during our stay in Taormina. We are really glad we sampled the pizza first, the staff were unwelcoming and were very lacklustre in their attitude. The pizza was the worst I have ever tasted, cold, doughy and... More

This town has more than its fair share of restaurants and to be sure in Sicily the standard of local food is as high as anywhere I`ve been. We arrived without a reservation at 8.00pm on a Saturday evening and could hear the cacophony of a hundred conversations before we had reached the entrance one floor before street level. A... More

They served us well, the food was very delicious, steak was well cooked and tasty, lots of vegetables well cooked and presented as a side. The house wine was excellent and the staff were so attentive without being intrusive. And the sea view? well we were so pleased with our evening, we returned for our last evening. And we were... As you may have found, Taormina is expensive. For a simple lunch of pizza, a glass of wine and a coffee, with a panoramic view of the sea, this place is ideal. I agree with MrChipAdviser that the maitre 'd has a slightly unfortunate manner, but the food and location (Pizza Norma and a pizza that was the Italian version... More

Excellent service, interesting, different pizzas and fabulous views across the Mediterranean and Sicilian coastline, a wonderful setting for a meal. We went twice during a week's holiday.

I visited this restruant some years ago and wanted to take my Daughter and Son in Law there on this trip as I had enjoyed it there previously. When we walked in the manager was sitting watching tele and ignored us. We went into the restruant proper to ask the waiter for a table. It was about 2pm and was... More

Lovely food, especially the pizza. Service was conveniently quick. However, the staff were most unaccommodating by refusing to allow my group of 5 to sit on a table of 8 which was clearly not going to be used. Be prepared to be judged by the staff.
