Best place to eat in this hill town between Catania & Messina, a few blocks from parking garage & off the main shopping street a few blocks, so quiet. Extensive menu & certainly one of the most extensive Sicilian wine lists! The chef/ owner proudly announced he was serving tuna he line caught that day!

Restaurant offers a straightforward menu that brings out the freshness of ingredients. They do go out fishing every morning and bring back the best catch! Staff was very helpful and friendly, even when both babies started screaming to the point that we had to leave the place in a hurry. My husband and I ate there 4 times during our... More

The perfect evening ... just follow the recommendation of the staff! Great wine, fish ... delicious and the lemon salad is a must! I was cold and one of the girls from the Osteria gave me her jacket ... We had a very nice and special dinner that we will remember a long time!

Living in New York, one becomes jaded as far as food is concerned. We feel we have seen it all, tasted the best...what is left? The Osteria Nero D'Avola is a lesson in humility. A short walk across a narrow street from the San Domenico Palace, one is first delighted by the fragrance of orange blossoms that perfumes the air.... More

This smart place sits opposite the entrance to Hotel San Domenico Palace in a quiet street off the western end of Corso Umberto. We enjoyed the fish and shellfish dishes very much, and the hospitality and service were first class. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, as it became very busy, both downstairs and on the... More

we stumbled into this simple looking Osteria. It was one of my best Italian dining experience. The wines list extensive from the region of Sicily. The menu changes according to the fresh products the chef finds around the area. The mushrooms are gathered by himself and the fish products direct from the catch. He then goes out of his way... Since Nero D'Avolo features on many 'Best restaurants' lists for Taormina, its worth seeking out and could, quite possibly be Taormina's best food experience. Oddly enough, a quiet lunch here proved to be more successful than a busy Friday night dinner. . .when the great and good seem to have descended upon it, busying up the kitchen to the point... More
