This restaurant is not one you would stumble across unless staying at the san domenico. It is worth a visit though is pricier than most restaurants outside of a hotel in Taormina. It is not huge and tables are well spaced. The focus is on local produce.. We were given suggestions regarding how the... read more

we stumbled into this simple looking Osteria. It was one of my best Italian dining experience. The wines list extensive from the region of Sicily. The menu changes according to the fresh products the chef finds around the area. The mushrooms are gathered by himself and the fish products direct from the catch. He then goes out of his way... Since Nero D'Avolo features on many 'Best restaurants' lists for Taormina, its worth seeking out and could, quite possibly be Taormina's best food experience. Oddly enough, a quiet lunch here proved to be more successful than a busy Friday night dinner. . .when the great and good seem to have descended upon it, busying up the kitchen to the point... More

Had a wonderful meal here today- not easy to find this restaurant but absolutely worth the trek!! We were treated like family and even taught some table side recipes by the owner and chef. Do not miss this opportunity! Fresh fresh fresh everything !!

We ate at this cosy restaurant close to our hotel. The food was generous and very tasty, and the wine list was very extensive included many local wines (as the name suggests).

We had a wonderful experience here! The waitress was very sweet and prepared- she was able to recommend us a wonderful natural wine from their very long, eclectic and well thought out wine list. We had a great meal- my personal highlight were the local porcini mushrooms and the stewed moscardini (little octopus). What topped it off, though, was the... More

Osteria Nero D'Avola was highly recommended to us by our travel agent representative and by our hotel, and is well praised in all the guides - so this is where we dined for our anniversary. It lived up to its reputation. Fortunately we had been given good instructions as to how to find it because it is off the main... More

Not the cheapest meal in Sicily, by any standard, but well worth the visit. Selection of wine is great and the most amazing octopus dish I have ever eaten
