Great food but the local 'speciality' is a real let down.

We came here with high expectations and they were mostly met! The pasta, pizza, wine and dessert were great. The only let down was the involtini (beef rolls filled with cheese) which were really poor. Stay away from this dish and you will have a great dinner here!

Situated just outside the shopping area (through the small arch leading to the more residential area). The restaurant was busy so booking is recommended for this one as people were waiting for tables almost all of the time we were there. The tables are in a courtyard below that can be accessed through the arch or main doors (go downstairs).... More

We visited this restaurant on our first night in Taormina following a recommendation from the Lonely Planet guide and a taxi driver. It was very busy but the food was very average and nothing special.

Busy and full of people, but the food was ordinary and the wine was too hot. On the bright side: it was pretty cheap!

This restaurant was very busy on our visit, but the service did not suffer. A good selection of traditional Italian dishes served in a great atmosphere. My only criticism was the seafood pizza, which was served with the shells on (mussels, clams etc) which when removed took a chunk of the topping with it. Probably a traditional way of serving... After reading a couple of reviews and on a lonely planet recommendation we were looking forward to dining here. What a disappointment waiting staff seems to care more about serving italian guests (even though they arrived after us), no complimentary bread given like other tables!!. They tried giving us someone elses starter by mistake chaos! My pizza arrived undercooked with... More

If you are looking for freshly cooked, no fuss great food at reasonable prices, look no further: this place has it all. Nice relaxed setting under the trees, efficient service, lots of local families eating here too.. a very enjoyable experience.

My wife and I ate in this restaurant in July 2015 and came away disappointed for a number of reasons. We reserved a table in this restaurant based on a recommendation in the lonely planet. The food was average at best and the courses were rushed. There was a queue forming at the entrance before we had finished our meal,... More

We were recommended this restaurant by someone in our hotel. When we arrived we were happy with the setting and the atmosphere. Our starters were great and we were very happy however our main course was disappointing. We ordered meat dishes which were accompanied by cold fries only. The waiter wanted to replace my husbands meal but by then it... More

“Tiramisu” on Via Cappucini (near Porta Messina). There seems to be another Tiramisu at the other end of the Corso Umberto but we didn’t eat there so can’t comment. This was one of our favourite restaurants. The food is superb, very reasonably priced and it has a lovely courtyard. The ambience is very relaxed but efficient. Look out for the... More
