Delicious towering sandwich man v food style

Glad we stumbled passed and I had remembered reading the name of this place, it lived up to the Hype. It's worth the wait and we were given a free slab of smoked mozarella and bread while we were waiting, and they found chairs and tables for everyone in their seating area opposite the shop. Really... read more

The key drawing power of this shop is the old gentleman busily cutting cheeses and inviting us to taste with a big smile and lots of gusto. The tricotta here is delicious and there sure many other Sicilian cheese to choose from. We would have bought the cheese if not for the long queue in front of us. Surely make... More

They love making it, we loved eating it. Generous, tasty, worth every cent. Fresh panini, caponata, caciocavallo, mozzarella cream, lettuce, prosciutto, lemon and oregano.

we were advised by our B and B owner to go to this place under the blue awnings on the end at the left. What a great experience. We stood and watched the gentleman create a magnificent panini with layers of special things such as fresh ricotta olives ham, semi dried tomatoes lemon squeezed etc. worth watching. We then paid... Just adding to the chorus - a great place to see a maestro at work, and to eat a delicious sandwich, hand-made, unique, fresh, and bursting with taste. Do it.

You cannot leave Ortigia without experiencing this... Stand in line for ten, fifteen, twenty minutes and just watch this maestro at work. The way he turns sandwich-making into an art form is only part of it. It is the finest Sicilian theatre and the whole of the market is his stage. Everyone who passes his shop front is engaged, no... Simply the most delicious casual food. The tastiest sandwiches for the best price plus wine on the side and the best 'cannoli' I tasted so far in Sicily. It lies at the heart of the local market and they are all really friendly. Don't miss it!

This is not really a restaurant, but more of a shop where you can also eat top-notch fresh gourmet food. The people who run the shop are highly educated professionals who quit their jobs because their real passion is food. As soon as you walk in, you are graciously and generously offered samples of everything in copious amounts: cheese, salamis,... More

After parking the car in the Syracusa, we saw a crowded place. Although we were not hungry, when we saw how the owner was preparing the sandwiches we instantly shouted WoooW and stood in the line. The food we tested was delicious.
