This somewhat hidden restaurant has a limited choice of dishes - on purpose to assure quality. And this is correct! The mushroom (porcini) flan on a pecorino bed as a starter was superb. The rest of the diner had the same high level. But most important of all, this restaurant has an extensive list of mainly Sicilian (very good) wines... More

A decent place to go to for those who are not fussy eaters and who enjoy good food. The menu is however very very restricted.Pleasant and efficient staff.

Of course it isn't the cheapest restaurant in Siracusa, but the food is well worth it. The sardines 'a becco ficco' are the best I have had in Sicily, and the tuna dish I had as a second was superb. The menu is very small but the products are fresh, and that definitely makes a big difference when you are... More

We ended up at Dioniso after our walk through Via Cavour. The host and owner of the restaurant is a very nice, pleasant and friendly man, giving us some good advice on what to eat and what to drink. He advised us the cheapest wine to drink with our dishes, which seemed very honest. He left the place early, and... More

I started with the stuffed fried sardine, which was very good. My main course was the grilled red tuna, which was average. The squid salad and shrimp with garbanzo beans were also very good. The service was great and the ambiance was very nice. I gave it three stars because we had other meals that tasted just as good nearby... More

Me and my fiancé found this lovely place while strolling around. And we sat down and drank a lovely white wine "Shiará". With a small but daily updated menu the food was amazing. We both were stunned and couldn't remember that we have tasted better food. Well worth the prices. It's a must.

After trying several trattoria style restaurants in Siracusa we decided to forgo the obvious pleasure of eating outside in favour of this small hard to find side street restaurant. We had no prior knowledge except for having passed the night before to see people enjoying themselves. The place was empty when we arrived at 8.30 which was a bit worrying... More

We sought out Dioniso after reading reviews here and it was an excellent choice. Tucked away up an alley, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who evidently takes great pride in his lovely little restaurant. The food was delicious - like many others on here, we had the carrot flan and the sardines for starters! A good wine was... More

Our two week sampling of top rated Ortigia restaurants culminated at Dionisio where we enjoyed a superb and unforgetable dining experience. We were enthusiastically greeted by the warm and cheerful Alfio Torrisi who thoughtfully discussed in detail each item on his distictive menu. Following his advice we chose carrot cream flan, stuffed fried sardines, calamare risotto and red tuna all... More

almost hidden in the back streets of Ortigia, Dioniso is a perfect restaurant - attentive service, freshly cooked inventive food and a pleasant ambience. the owner who is a former lawyer, makes everyone feel welcome and special and his son cooks good food in the tiniest of kitchens well Worth a visit.
