Great place, but skip desert!

We loved this place! Very friendly and dedicated staff, same goes for the owner. The place is great, the location is, thankfully, off the supernarrow and crowded streets. The only thing I would leave out, is the desert. They were only 5€, but they let down the rest of the meal. The Limoncello... read more

We were here for dinner and were attended by the owner himself, who was very interested in our background and to chat about food and in general. Of course he had to explain us about the best of the Sicilian cuisine - we followed all his suggestions and the food was great. Very rich flavours, and everything done with excellent... More

A warm welcome to a lovely restaurant; very attentive but not intrusive service. Small but varied menu made all the better by good explanations and help offered with choosing the best wine to accompany the food. Food was absolutely delicious! A friendly welcoming place providing the perfect evening. Thanks very much; we definitely will return on our next trip to... More

Intrigued by the positive reviews on this place, we decided to have dinner here. It is located on a very charming narrow way, off one of the main central streets . I agree with the reviews: Mr. Alfio is truly a gentleman and his advice proved invaluable for the success of our dinner. Here you prove a sophisticated reexamination of... More

We stumbled on this restaurant (up a small side alley) for a late lunch in Ortigia. Signor Alfio was very attentive and speaks excellent English, guiding us to some unusual wines and describing the history of the food. Particularly memorable were the spaghetti with grouper roe and the wine jelly (to his grandmother's recipe). We tried a local, unusually dry... More

We really had a very nice and delicious diner at Dionisio. All the dishes we had were creative and traditional at the same time. Only fresh and quality products, the shrimps were spectacular! And thanks to Alfio for his hospitality and kindness. We hope to come back soon!

Without a doubt, this was the best restaurant we ate at while visiting Sicily. Wonderful service (Simona) They explain everything in a friendly, non pretentious way. They welcome you in like you are their best friend. The menu is small because they only cook what is fresh at the market. Trust me...everything here is delicious. Don't be afraid to try... More

... fine food and hospitality. the owner is an elderly gentleman who makes it a point to call at every table and volunteers to give background information about the menu, notably the fact that securing the right fish and the right quality thereof dictates to some extent the menu of the day. the two waiting staff are models of friendliness... This little restaurant is fantastic..if you can get in !, people were opting to eat in the street instead of waiting, it is a small restaurant probably only seats 20 but if you can get in it is wonderful, the owner Alfio and his staff are fantastic and really look after you without intruding, the food is amazing and a... The friendly owner is very passionate about food and wine. Everything is freshly made and tastes beautifully. Try some of the sicilian white wines - its a treat!
