Excellent sea bass in white wine sauce and grilled calamari - fresh ingredients and pure flavours, what else do you need...

The food was exceptional, my daughter was in well, they cooked a special dish for her and could not have been more helpful. Even an old school lemon drink was made. Can't recommend enough!!!

Ate here recently - thought I had booked online but there was a problem with their system. Thought we would be unlucky but the owner was very charming and apologetic and seated us immediately even though the place was full to bursting. Had great food - lovely vegetarian antipasti, spaghetti with clams cockles and mussels and then delicious cannolo. My... More

Excellent ravioli and sea bass (spigola). Very kind waiters and the owner was very genuine. Highly recommend getting there early or making a reservation. Enjoy!

Recommended by a friend, La Tavernetta da Piero seemed like any other small restaurant--from the street. But, once we were seated, it was obvious that we had joined the local community in the heart of Syracusa. Reservations are a MUST here as we saw numerous people turned away. (We reserved on the internet and were quickly confirmed.) The pasta course... More

We knew we needed to make reservations, however, we took our chances and went unreserved. As expected it was 100% full but they offered for us to go back in an hour at 10:30pm. Good enough as Ortigia at night is awesome. The menu is great, very varied with options for everyone. Ingredients are mostly local and fresh. Dishes are... More

Good quality local food at very reasonable prices on a tourist trail street was unexpected. The sea urchin linguine ( just the meat, not the spines!) was a first for me ,and I'd have it again in a shot.Seafood spaghetti was wonderfully flavoured .A couple of veal fillets, one with mushroom sauce , we're beautifully done and very tender.A friendly place with... Fish and seafood of La Tavernetta can be warmly recommended. Of course those are good all around Sicily but we found this small (unfornately, pls book) taverna the best one we tried in different towns during our visit in Sicily. Both the Finns and the Italians in our group were very happy with the food, wines, service and also moderate... More

La Tavernetta da Piero was the best tratorria we had tried in Sicily during our vacation in June 2014th. Food was fresh and tasty. We tried risotto with clams, shrimps, octopus and Sicilian veal fillet both dishes was very tasty. Also we liked carpaccio of tuna and swordfish. Owners and waiters were very kindly. Thank you for great evening.

We saw this little restaurant while walking through the streets of Siracusa and noticed the Trip Advisor decal so we decided to try it. Well, we were extremely lucky. We did not have a reservation but got in as they were opening. Within 30 minutes they were turning people away. You definitely should make reservations because you definitely should eat... More
