Had the most amazing fish soup here, plus the starter bread was beautifully soaked in olive oil, herbs and a small amount of chilli. Truly a taste sensation.

My husband and I really liked this restaurant, situated in a lovely 'wine cellar' kind of room with vaulted ceilings. We didn't book and it was busy so we were just lucky to get a table as it was a bit later (8:30pm) and it was a Wednesday, but I would strongly suggest booking in advance as I imagine it... More

We booked well in advance before we left England. Boy was it worth it!! Our favourite restaurant in Syracuse by a country mile. Don't miss it. If you like fish you are in for a real treat. It is a set menu. Five or six course, I can't remember. Every single dish was superb. Fine dining at it's very best.... More

Not much to say that others have not...superb quality served in a stone walled tiny room...eaten here 20 times, never miss this place when in Ortigia, impossible to be dissapointed.

also.....you must appreciate a set course menu...and in case anyone doesn't read English...wine is NOT included in the price of 35 €. The food as excellent..if our tummies are not big enough that's out problem. the claim and mussel soup was superb..as was the marinated sardines and prawns. We had a bottle of a new wine 'eureka'...high recommend this at... More

This is a fixed- price, 35€ meal with multiple courses. Many of the courses were very good, but service was awkward and rushed, making me feel like I was being hurried out the door. Every course included fish, and by that, I mean that there was a bit of an over-abundance of sardines. The 5€ a bottle house wine was... More

No menu, you just show up and get whatever seafood is freshest that day. My kind of restaurant. The fish and seafood was cooked to perfection! The flavours delicious. And for 35euro for 6 fish dishes. Amazing! Water, covers, bread all included. Wine the only thing that isn't. But when there is a bottle of local vino for 5 euro...... More

We ate on Valentines and the place was totally empty at 8pm. However by 9.30 the restaurant was packed with well heeled Sicilians. No menu or explanation of the food on offer but as you finish one plate another arrives. So much tasty fish washed down with fine local white at 5 euro a bottle. Fantastic food and atmosphere.

We'd not been here for a few years but when back in Ortigia we couldn't resist. Same great food, especially when you order the full menu, which used to include wine, but these days it's extra. Everything else is still included, water, dessert, caffe, even amaro or grappa if you like. In some ways this is better as very good... More
