The Algilà restaurant, located on the island of Ortigia in a fabulous position and with a wonderful view of the sea, offers a cuisine which is in total harmony with the spirit of the hotel and which distinguishes itself by its respect of Mediterranean traditions. Our gastronomic recommendations are based on genuine, simple and tasty Sicilian cuisine, making use of the modest but delicious aubergines, courgettes and peppers. Special care is given to fish. Only fresh, never frozen, local producers bring the fish directly from their boats to the restaurant.

Great meal - wonderful appetizers

We enjoyed our dinner - especially the appetizers! My husband had the octopus salad - which was gigantic. I had ricotta cheese wrapped in zucchini. Very nice service and an enjoyable evening.

I understand that most of the diners at this restaurant are likely to be guests at the hotel, but those who don't eat here are really missing out. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced. The hotel is a beautiful building so the restaurant is very very pretty. The only thing it could use is a little background music since... More

Algila had the best caponata of any we tried in Sicily. Perfect side dish for the fish main course. Wine selection was great as well.

We chose the restaurant of the Algilà hotel as the setting for our last meal in beautiful Ortygia because, from the outside, it oozed a warm ambience and a calm serenity. How different things were on the inside. Approximately 20 diners (possibly hotel guests; probably not) being tended to by one waiter and one cook. The menu was uninspiring; the... More

Dear Alex, I am very sorry that iyou were so unhappy with our restaurant. I personally apologize for the long wait and I realize that this might affect your judgment on the dishes. Usually we receive many compliments and for this reason we're much more sorry to take the dissatisfaction of some customers. On that evening we had a defection... More

We ate here on night and thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambience (sitting outside and watching the world go by) but it was all rather over-priced.

Our first night in Sicily, we had dinner at Algila. Since we were staying at the hotel, the dinner was complimentary, but it was so good that we considered returning another night. Warm octopus salad was delicious. Like most restaurant in Sicily, Algila has a large selection of fish on the menu, all very fresh. My pasta with pistachio pesto... More

While the menu is limited the food is really first rate. The young chef does a careful preparation of wonderful Sicilian food. It's a bit pricier, not by much, than a lot of the local places and we found that we got much more value in quality. We ate here twice and thought it was the best in Siracusa that... More
