We found this restaurant by chance on the recommendation of a waiter of a nearby restaurant which could not fit us in- a lucky find. It was busy at lunchtime and many of the diners were local Italians- a good sign. We had the octopus antipasti and seafood risotto- both thoroughly enjoyable. The service was good and the owner was... More

We ate at ado Scogghiu twice on our recent trip to Siracuse. Both times the pasta was great, the staff friendly and the food and wine reasonably priced. The Cannoli we had for desert was the best so far in Sicily.

It proved a good choice out of the Lonely Planet Guide. Friendly service, not rushed nor delayed, with straightforward, everyday food - it's a trattoria so don't expect restaurant standards. A relaxed, busy place when we were there. Pasta nicely al-dente, fish was good, wine enjoyable with the proprietor surveying his kingdom with a smile on his face and a... More

based on previous reviews we went here for dinner, but left disappointed. spaghetti scoglio - pasta was not cooked through, there was no sauce and fish seemed to come from frozen. we cook it better at home.. The seafood antipasti we started with were nothing to write home about either. sorry to say but you can give this place a... More

We had a great evening in Spaghetteria Do Scogghiu. It had such a fantastic atmosphere, with an open kitchen and lovely fresh dishes. The place was full but the service was fast and the owners friendly and welcoming. The food was great - a lovely blood orange and onion salad and massive bowls of spaghetti which were very reasonably priced.... More

On our first day in Sicily, after driving from the airport we were hungry and the most suitable restaurant we found was Spaghetteria Do Scogghiu. The food was good, although it took some time (it was crowded- mostly italians).

We asked a local guide to recommend a place for lunch and she said: You can eat with a view and get good food...or you can forego the view and get great food. We chose the latter...and it was a good choice! The place is decorated to give the illusion of eating outdoors. The service was friendly, the house wine... More

We came here based on a recommendation from our local guide Diana. We were a small group and they accommodated us right away. The Ingredients are super fresh as the owner is prepping the veggies right in the dining room in his white T-shirt as the two chefs in the open view kitchen are creating their masterpieces. Service was quick... More

Specializing in seafood spaghetti and other fish dishes. The spaghetti al nero were fantastic and the mixed paltter of roasted fish and prawns was also delicious. The servings of spaghetti 'do scogghiu' are huge and delicious. The service is friendly and local and papa Sebastiano makes you feels as part of the family. Great replica of a typical Sicilian street... More

We found this Trattoria while walking around on Ortigia island. The atmosphere was really great but unfortunately the service and food were just average. We've had antipasti and a pasta dish. When we didn't want to order a second course, the waiter got kind of angry.
