Stick to the fish

Very good fishy antipasti. Swordfish and tuna, similarly, carefully cooked, fresh and tasty. Bit the pizzas were dreadful and I am puzzled by the previous revue. The dough was too thick and lacked a decent crust - under-cooked. Toppings were bland. The taking of the order was efficient and smiling... read more

The restaurant has a great location with a nice breeze. The pizza was good. My friends liked it better than I did. I felt the sauce was a little sweet, but we have a dessert pizza that was wonderful - Nutella cream and pistachio. Nice white wine too.

We should have known better, why didn't we read the trip advisor before trying this place? I ended up sending back my pasta. The waiter wanted to make it up to me and brought a complimentary ice cream. I wish he wouldn't have...

Ok so this is my fifth time in Italy and I finally have made it to Sicily. A friend of mine wanted to share this restaurant with me. I have never had such an amazing dish, service or bottle of wine. Fabio our server was very busy but still managed to give us his personal touch. He made recommendations for... More

We should have known it was a trap for tourists, but we gave it a try. Regretted it. - Spaghetti with seafood and pistachioes(13 euros): a minuscule portion of overcooked low-quality spaghetti, with a sauce that was more like broth. Seafood consisted of small supermarket shrimps and one not exactly fresh bigger shrimp. No pistachioes. - Carpaccio di pesce (raw... More

Dined at Vecchio Lavatoio after spending 11 days in different parts of Sicily. Decided for this resturant because of the amazing view and the cozy charming atmosphere right on the seafront where you can see the sunset. Had the fresh dorado with grilled vegetables and was the best fish I had in Sicily. Great service and reasonably priced. The owner... More

The restaurant is right alongside the waterfront and the tables have a lovely view of the bay and walkers from the shade. However, the wait staff is rushed and indifferent, the food is thrown together, and the bill had several items that didn't actually arrive. The staff corrected the errors, but that precipitated an argument among themselves about who was... More

Here the spot beside the sea makes it great. The food was above average and the wine OK but sittting in such a tranquil place made it all better.

My friends and I stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting Siracusa. It started to pour all of a sudden and we decided to take refuge in this restaurant and have some dinner. From beginning to end the dining experience was very pleasant. First of all, the restaurant is located right along the waterfront, offering a nice view and a covered... More

This is a very friendly popular eating place near the Fonte Aretusa. They have a good selection of dishes both fish and meat, and plenty of different pasta dishes. They also do extremely good pizzas - the best we had tasted in Siracusa. Prices are not too bad and they treated us to a complementary dessert wine and a dessert... More
