It's so great to eat by the sea. A busy location but this adds to the atmosphere (and does not add to the bill!) The food was good. Service a bit strange (meals not all delivered together) but the waiters were fun so made up for it.

This big waterfront restaurant near the Fonte Aretusa should be mediocre, touting passers-by and catering as it does to tourist groups. However our experience over several visits over four years is that it has some of the freshest fish, especially white fish, in Ortigia. When you think of it that is logical as it has higher turnover than cute little... More

The restaurant has a great location with a nice breeze. The pizza was good. My friends liked it better than I did. I felt the sauce was a little sweet, but we have a dessert pizza that was wonderful - Nutella cream and pistachio. Nice white wine too.

Ok so this is my fifth time in Italy and I finally have made it to Sicily. A friend of mine wanted to share this restaurant with me. I have never had such an amazing dish, service or bottle of wine. Fabio our server was very busy but still managed to give us his personal touch. He made recommendations for... More

We should have known it was a trap for tourists, but we gave it a try. Regretted it. - Spaghetti with seafood and pistachioes(13 euros): a minuscule portion of overcooked low-quality spaghetti, with a sauce that was more like broth. Seafood consisted of small supermarket shrimps and one not exactly fresh bigger shrimp. No pistachioes. - Carpaccio di pesce (raw... More

Dined at Vecchio Lavatoio after spending 11 days in different parts of Sicily. Decided for this resturant because of the amazing view and the cozy charming atmosphere right on the seafront where you can see the sunset. Had the fresh dorado with grilled vegetables and was the best fish I had in Sicily. Great service and reasonably priced. The owner... More

Here the spot beside the sea makes it great. The food was above average and the wine OK but sittting in such a tranquil place made it all better.
