Visited for lunch w friends en route from Ischia to Malta on sailing boat. Typical local trattoria frequented by locals and some tourists. Owner brought various anti-pasti dishes (squid, oranges in balsamico, mussels, bruchetta, etc.) and then suggested swordfish. Everything was fresh and well prepared from local produce. Had local Sicilian white wine recommended by owner; excellent. Pricing a little... More

I'm so upset I fell for this tourist trap. Extremely touristy and terrible food. The pasta was floating in a sauce that seemed from a microwaved frozen meal. But the worse part was the service. When we didn't get wine the waiter literally stopped talking to us. He was annoyed when I asked a question about the menu and kept... More

Pasta is the deal here and its homemade, fresh and delicious. Lots of different kinds, seasonally prepared like most things are in Italy and Sicily. The place fills up quickly and the reason is that the food is great, the proprietor is really nice and its incredibly inexpensive for the amount and quality of the food. I would classify this... Read 2 good reviews ( from Lonely Planet and Daily Telegraph) but sadly did not check Trip Advisor. The waiters were disinterested, the food was average and in my dish of spaghetti with anchovies and breadcrumbs, they must surely have used packaged breadcrumbs - awful compared to other dishes I've tasted with fresh breadcrumbs on my 7 week holiday in... Down a tiny alley way and away from the main part... Tables outside fill up quick and so does your belly with the great food. Spaghetti was perfect service friendly and attentive and overall a very enjoyable atmosphere especially for a solo diner!! Definitely recommend it

Incredibly busy restaurant on a Saturday evening, so reservations necessary. Food was excellent. Some problem with being understood (our rudimentary Italian needed some assstance from an English-speaking Italian couple nearby). Mostly Italian clientele. Enjoyable evening.

We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the €7 main course price at this restaurant recommended by a Telegraph newspaper travel writer. But when we tasted the food we immediately understood. No Parmesan offered with the pasta whose sauce was stewed and tasted unpleasant. Thr grilled sardines weren't fresh and the €2 green salad was a plate of chopped... More
