Found this little restaurant down a narrow alley. Good cold beer and wine at very good prices. We had a pasta dish (7 euro) and the rabbit stew (8 euro) - great tastes and excellent value. Waiters were friendly and service quite good. A nice little free treat at end of meal plus a free local digestivo. Recommend this venue.

This place is best left to locals who must either get better food or have no taste buds. My aperoll-spritz was cloyingly sweet and lacked any spritz. The acciughe in my spaghetti con acciughe must have seen the chef before he saw them and made their escape. The gamberoni must have been hanging around since Archimedes caught them, and the... More

After walking by this restuarant two of three times we decided to try it for dinner, Always seemed crowded and the food looked good. We ordered the Frutti di mare antipasti, a pasta with sardines and farfalle con zucca. They brought us an orange salad which we assumed was a complimentary appetizer. We did not ask for it. Unfortunately the... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and it looks really charming. We had a nice table outside and when we arrived at 8.15 the place was only just filling up. To begin with the service was good and attentive and both my husband and I had nice pasta dishes. Had to wait a while for the main course.... More

We decided to dine here based on reviews and our desire to eat local. The restaurant filled up quickly after opening at 7:30. We sat in the brightly lit interior to avoid the smokers outside. The waiter took our order right away- if we had not read the menu earlier outside we would not have been ready to order. Our... More

Had some very tasty pasta for lunch (particularly the one with ricotta and sausage), so returned another day for dinner and still just as good. Plenty of dishes to try, good value by local standards, and was always pretty busy when we went past.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here, and the place was packed with Italians inside and out, which is always a great sign. The osteria seemed authentic (I have eaten at a lot of wonderful Italian restaurants throughout the country) with traditional decor, efficient if not overly warm service and a menu full of culinary highlights. We had some amazing... More

I continue to be baffled by Americans' reaction to restaurants in Sicily. Osteria Marano is a busy authentic Osteria, a very ancient tradition of a creative and welcoming community restaurant. No frills but oozes charm. It is packed with a wonderful mix of locals and a few tourists. The staff is kind, good humored and, no there is no english... More

We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant - food wise it was delicious and generous in helpings. It is an incredibly popular restaurant with locals who are prepared to wait to get a table - always a good sign. The only thing that spoilt our evening was a 25 minute wait to get our bill - after asking three... More

People were actually queuing to get into this restaurant... It had been recommended to us but.... we hated it. For starters we asked for a wine list to be told they only had house white and red from barrels. Lo and behold the next table (of Italians) were served up lovely bottles of Nero D'Avola and Inzolia. We like our... More
