We picked this restaurant based on our guide book and were very happy with our meal. A little hard to find on a quaint little alley, but worth searching out. Started out with some fritto misto, which was the best we've had; the seafood was incredibly fresh and tasty. Very good pasta dishes as well, good and inexpensive house wine,... More

We came here with some local friends, and had a wonderful evening. The dinner started with a large selection of antipasti followed by a choice of three "primi" based on seafood pasta dishes. The food quality overall was between very good and excellent. The pasta "al nero di seppia" (squid ink) was remarkable. We noticed plenty of local people at... More

As another reviewer noted, the bruschetta is very disappointing...my partners pasta was also a bit disappointing, as was the antipasto. Two or us ordered the octopus (one in pasta as a primi, the other as a secondi) - both were great. House wine was good. Would have preferred to rate it 2.5/5.0 but can't select half stars on the iPhone... More

Ate here last night and when we received our bill we found we had been overcharged 8E. The bill is calculated at your table very quickly and then staff wait for you to immediately pay. When we questioned the bill we had to show the staff the correct prices on the menu and the arrogant attitude shown towards us wasn't necessary.This... We were a group of friends (6) in Siracusa for the day, looking for a typical, genuine Sicilian restaurant, when we came across Osteria da Mariano tucked in a narrow alley The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We took the owner's suggestion of typical Sicilian anti-pasti for starters which were varied and abundant, followed by three different types of... More

In a small alley you sit on a slope. The atmosphere is really good because of the typical Italian alley. The food wasn't fantastic but maybe that was because it was busy. The price/quality was good so you can consider this restaurant.

confusing! several recommendations for this restaurant, so ready for a good Saturday night meal out. assumed it was small pasta "plates" as part of italian many courses, and ordered the bruschetta followed by pasta, and planned to order a meat/fish course next. The bruschetta arrived and was very disappointing....chewy bread, with some drizzled olive old and a large sprinkling of... More

I chose to dine here after discovering online an article from a national newspaper back home. A travel journalist who lives in Italy listed his favourite five Sicilian restaurants. This was one of them. I should have listened to the receptionist at my hotel who pulled a face when I mentioned my intention of eating there. On arrival I was... More

Found this little restaurant down a narrow alley. Good cold beer and wine at very good prices. We had a pasta dish (7 euro) and the rabbit stew (8 euro) - great tastes and excellent value. Waiters were friendly and service quite good. A nice little free treat at end of meal plus a free local digestivo. Recommend this venue.
