There are lots of good places to eat in Ortigia and this is one. It's simple food, grilled fish, octopus salad, grilled vegetables, sardine pasta, but all of it really nicely done and full of flavour. They've got some nice Sicilian wines as well. Our meal was 77 Euros for two with all the courses and wine - very good... More

At the very tip of Ortygia is heaven in the form of a taverna. Away from the busy heart of the island, we had our best seafood meal in Sicily. Starting with a divine misto mare, it was near-impossible to pick a favourite offering on a dish of incredible quality. I'd say the smoked tuna ranked at the very top.... More

We had three great meals here in a 10 day stay. Kept going back because the food was so delicious, yet unpretentious and the menu not ridiculously long (as many are in other places). The service was also great. All in all, one of the best places we found in Ortigia, and that's saying something, as many places were either... More

Very unassuming looking place. Please don't be put off. Nice friendly little bistro with good atmosphere, ambiance. Off the beaten track at the southern tip of the island. We had lovely sea bass crusted with potato and grilled veggies. Just smashing with a beer and glass of prosecco. We felt the price was good and not touristy. Lots of Italians... More

We were recommended by the hotel to try this place for lunch. When we arrived we had to wait about 5-10 mins for a table and there was also a line that started to form behind us. Most people eating here appeared to be locals. We ordered gnocchi vongole and roast lamb to share - both dishes were very good.... More

We had a poor lunch experience. The food was mediocre and overall poor flavour and quality. Local wine was ok. Overpriced and not to be recommended. There are many good restaurants in Syracuse and no need to return to this one.

Should you be walking around Ortigia, do not hesitate to stop by the Taverna Sveva for lunch (would not really recommend for dinner unless you have children with you). They have a nice dehors as well as a few tables inside, service was friendly and accommodating. We tried their pistachio gnocchi which were quite good and they have nice smoked... More

Near the seaside in Syracuse , Italy, we sat outside at dusk. For starters i enjoyed the salmon dish. Seasoned perfectly.. Very thin slices of salmon laced over lettuce with onions. Followed with salad and a glass of the house wine. The salad was mixed greens of arugula, potatoes, the most subtle tasting carrots, olives, dried tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.... More
