The hotel staff recommended this restaurant. What a recommendation and a wonderful surprise. Overall, the food quality and presentation was very good and the service was excellent. The feeling in the place was quite special for us. We dined around 8:45pm on a weekday and the place was full with locals. In Palermo, definitely check out this wonderful restaurant.

Fortunately we had booked as restaurant was full by 8pm on a Monday night. Service and appointments were excellent as was the wine list. My first course of broad bean soup with fennel was tasty and satisfying. My husband's huge plate of mussels were tender and perfect. Pork chop (me) and fish (him) came with salad and were adequate but... More

Came here based on the Lonely Planet write up and were not disappointed. Very busy on a Saturday night but they went out of their way to accommodate us. The 'antipasti misto' starter is a fantastic buffet (one visit allowed) with lots of fish or veggie items to choose from. I had swordfish as a main which was delicious. The... More

Best antipasto and best caponata in the city. the soup and the tongue were delicious. I even forgot my backpack there and they let me in early to retrieve it. Sweet people and delicious food. House red was more than serviceable.

Having stuffed ourselves stupid for 3 days already we opted to have just the one course with a side which did cause them some confusion - easily sorted though. Had a simple pasta with aubergine but the homemade pasta was truly amazing. The potato side dish was also stunning. One day will go back and have all 4 courses!

One Sicilian I met in Palermo told me that I should not expect to get fish at most of the restaurants because people in the city prefer to eat meat. Therefore, if you’d like to get fish you should rather drive outside of Palermo to the fishing villages. I had a great fish at this restaurant as well as spaghetti... More

The cold buffet was great. The cold pasta was not. We agreed that the word in Italian for cold was 'freddo'. The restaurant did offer to heat up the pasta, but who would want re-heated pasta at a restaurant? I returned it uneaten, but they still charged for it. They shrugged, I shrugged. Don't go.

We arrived with high expectations and we left very dissapointed and unsatisfied. We had the grilled cheese and mussels as antipasti. Both were bland tasting and boring dishes. For primi piatti we chose the risotto frutti di mare and the pasta con le sarde. Again bland and uninspired dishes. The ingredients were fresh but we didn't taste any passion in... More

Josie was our server as well, she was adorable. The pace was slow, but that is how italians eat. My meal was good, soild. We enjoyed the appetizer self serve bar, too much to choose from. Josie made some selections for us. We enjoyed our time so much we stayed for lemoncello & grappa, and shared the best cannoli I... More

I have nothing significant to add here. We went mid-week in low season. The place was moderately full. We had incredibly slow service - the owner sitting prominently in the middle of the restaurant worrying only about the cash and spending not one second looking at the kitchen or seeing if the customers were well looked after told me all...
