Great wine, good lite eats to go with

We ate here on our first night in Palermo, as our rented apartment was a short walk away and did not want to venture too far until we got a better feel for being out in the dark after dinner. Sad that we were one of three or four tables for the evening. Had three different wines by the glass... read more

A wonderful little gem of a place. There is a vast selection of wines, the food is superb, the ambience charming, and the staff very helpful and friendly. As it is very small, it is a good idea to book in advance ~

We came here on a quiet Sunday evening in October after an overwhelming rainstorm -- there were hardly any people there and we had a wonderful cozy meal by candlelight, sitting on thatched stools. Only complaint is that we ordered more than we needed to as the primi were so substantial -- fantastic cheese and salume. Entrees, chicken, pork, were... More

Cano Enoteca was just what we were looking for. It was tough to find, and when we got there the place was packed. They found a spot at the bar for us and a table 15 minutes later. The wine was great and the atmosphere informal an friendly. The food, while not fancy was excellent and went well with the... More

Intimate, select, classy and a real treat - this compendious, fabulously well-stocked and staffed wine-bar has everything that the discerning oenophile (and gourmand) could want; an unbelievable selection of wines, great and knowledgeable staff and good food too. Tucked away on Via Alloro, away from the centre and towards the sea, it's a hidden gem!

A wonderful enoteca with a wide selection of good wine, artisan beer plus delicious food, salume and cheese platter, roast chicken and pork and more. The owner was delightful and very helpful with choosing the wine and an explanation of the menu. The room is atmospheric and it all made for a great evening ... put Cana Enoteca on the... More

We stopped into this enotceca on our first night in Palermo and were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful in assisting us to select the type of wine we wanted, our first taste of a Grillo white wine was perfect. The mixed plate of meats and cheeses went perfectly with the wine. We arrived shortly after they opened... More

This is a great place to try some good sicilian and italian wines at a reasonable price (5 euros for a big glass). There's also a menu written on a blackboard full of tasty choices. Good atmosphere, lively crowd that goes there for the same reason than you: enjoying the food and the wine.

Charming and very italian. We called in on a Friday night and it was crammed with (what looked like) the local intelligentsia, university staff and students etc. The wine selection is, as you would expect, good and the prices were not too bad (€5 for a big glass of something of good quality). The food looked hearty and tasty -... More
