Good basic local food

Whenever we are abroad Rick and I will always try and find the restaurant that's stuffed with locals and few tourists - its a sure sign of a winner! Sesto Canto was only filled with local business people having a quick one course lunch and we were lucky enough to dine with them. Great tasting pasta... read more

Not your usual trattoria. High-tech atmosphere, greeted with prosecco. Excellent food all round, several different type of dishes (e.g., smoked salmon; cod, potato and chickpea fritters), but good pastas as well.

The restaurant had only predefined menu for Launch. We spent around 55 euros for 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 glasses of wine and espresso. Food was good, but nothing special.

Only had two courses as they were huge, but both were really nice, particularly the tuna with nuts for the main, thick tuna steak seared on the outside but pink in the centre. No problems for me with the service, both of the staff were very attentive. Really nice, and not too expensive, particularly given the size of the meal!

We waited 75 minutes for our first course to arrive...did not put us in a good mood. The food is fresh and simply prepared with excellent fish courses. Restaurant should stagger its reservations. Come early or late, not at 8:30.

Well...here we go! Me and my girlfriend visited last Saturday being the 20th of September and had an amazing meal, with a Little help from the locals on what to eat. So we decided to return on our last night for the best in my opinion on what Palermo restaurants had to offer. To start we had that little extra,... More

Excellent meal. +/- 100 Euro for 2 people (including a good bottle of wine and some grappa's). But: more than worth it. And the chef was not there, it was the sous-chef: a young lady. Super done. And we talked the whole evening with her father, the host. Splendid evening.

When we were there, the chef was on holiday. But the sous-chef, the owners daughter, did a wonderful job. I had a pasta with a tomatosause, eggplant and cacciovallo cheese to start. Then I had a tuna steak with nuts. Both courses were brilliant. The service was excellent and kinda funny.

Great jazzy atmosphere, very friendly staff and perfect food. A must in Palermo. Portions are large, and starters as well as prosecco were offered by the chef. The bill was surprisingly light compared to the overal food & service. Definitely a place to visit when you are in Palermo. Do not expect a large sign indicating the restaurant, the entrance... This cosy but stylish restaurant is a must try if you are in palermo. The decor is jazz inspired with jazz and classic music playing in the background. Staff are attentive but never overbearing. You get an aperitif and small dish to start for free which is a lovely surprise. I had the sirloin capraccio with two patties of melted... More
