It was a highlight of our recent trip to dine at this fine restaurant in the old part of Palermo. The atmosphere is intimate, the fish dishes exquisite in presentation and taste, the wine list extensive, and the price in line with the quality of the culinary experience. It is worth mentioning that the service is exceptional: the owner and staff... More

We cannot say enough good things about this special restaurant! We had been staying in Palermo for weeks and had walked by Ristoratino Palazzo Sambuca several times before deciding to make a special evening of dining there. Were we glad we did! What a fabulous place, and the food was to die for! This is a well-run family enterprise, where... More

One night my friend and I had done extensive sight-seeing in Palermo and were very tired at the end of the day. We left the hotel quite late and wandered around on Via Buttera and Via Alloro. We walked by Palazzo Sambuca and decided not to go in because it was so late and only one party was dining. After... More

Our group of 5 were treated like royalty, perhaps it was the owner who went around and chatted with guests and gave recommendations, which all turned out to be great. Tasteful, modern decor in a relatively small space, but the kitchen turned out delicious, beautifully presented appetizers, pastas, and seafood. A little on the pricier side, but well worth it.... We met the owner when he kindly helped us find our B&B up the road and ate here on our last night in Palermo. Food and wine were both excellent, beautifully presented and very tasty. Potato cake with swordfish starter was very good. Main course bass (a whole one each!) was really fresh and delicious. We did not have desert... More

Small room that we stumbled across on a narrow almost scary street. Great host. Incredible seafood. The owner was a cold star in a movie called the Leopard. Filmed in Palermo many many years ago. Great wine INCREFIBLE food and great value

The food was great, and the service very nice. But the atmosphere of the restaurant is not perfect (very quite, a TV with music shows?). I still recommend it if you want a good Sicilian restaurant with fresh fish.

When eating fish, freshness is crucial. We followed the strong recommendations of the owner and took some octopus and gambas. The octopus was hard as a rock (the owner tried to explain this away by claiming that softer octupus is not fresh). The gambas were clearly not fresh: we came out with nausea feeling which lasted all night, and digestion... More

Second time I have had the pleasure of dining at this intimate restaurant. The ambiance was very refined as usual and the food was first class. The fettuccine con Gamberone are simply sublime :) a personal favourite of mine. Staff are very attentive . Well done yet again.Complimenti

We stayed in Sicily for 8 nights in various locations and went to many restaurants that had exquisite food. However, this restaurant, Piazza Sambuca, was by far the best. We arrived, were seated immediately, and had three waiters all attending to us. The fish of the day was impeccable and fresh, the grilled vegetables were divine and all three pastas... More
