We appreciated the welcome and good service. The people who had veal were very happy with their meals. I had swordfish and was disappointed as it was very bland. Still, a very nice evening.
We stumbled across this place by chance and i'm so glad we did. Beautfiul sample starters while you choose your meal. The beef carpaccio is out of this world, as is the pork fillet in pistachio crumb. My partner had the seabass and said he'd never had better. We rebooked for our anniversary the following night and were greeted as... More
Good food, good service. I had the beef carpaccio, which was a twist of the classic carpaccio, with thick slices of meat plus mozarella. It was pretty nice though. Pasta was great, so was the cheese and meat platter starter and the veal main dish we also had. This, with a good red wine made a great dinner. It's not... More
Arrived early as we had waited all day to go to this restaurant. We went into an empty restaurant and 20:30 to be told by the waiter that it was fully booked. We went back at 22:30 and the restaurant was still empty apart from a couple and two members or staff. Do not waste your time
Not easy to find in a small Palermo side street, but once there we were taken good care of by the headwaiter, a friendly, young man who spoke English very well and who spoke very knowledgeably about food and wine. His advice was well worth listening to as the menue was fairly extensive for a restaurant of this class, and... More
Everything was good. I had the 'house antipasto' to start, and I'd recommend it. The sardine ball was quite different to my New England palate, but Sicilian food is full of strong flavors, so ... yes, this is why we travel! My husband started with beef carpaccio which was very good. Sliced a bit thicker than we've ever had, but... More
The restaurant was recommended to me by the hotel's concierge. The food, typical Italian fare, was good. But the manager's haughty attitude spoiled it. What is the sense of dinning someplace and watching a pompous fellow acting as if he was doing you a flavor serving it?
I had dinner here with my boyfriend earlier this month whilst on holiday in Palermo. It took us a while to figure out where many of the good restaurants were in the city but once we sat down to our table at Il Ghiottone Raffinato we knew we made the right choice for dinner. We were sat in the outdoor... More
I ate there tongiht. Antipasto mixto, Fish of the day, wine, bread, everything was good...except Pasta. Pasta vongole with Bottarga, was first of all, NO Bottarga. I didn't ask, but WHY??? AND there is with too much fruity olive oil overwhelming clam's flavor. It is so shame because the Olive oil itself is very fresh and txture of pasta noodle is... More
