We visited this restaurant having seen it given good reviews on Trip Advisor. We got there just in time to get one of the few remaining tables. Everyone in after us had to give their name and wait for a table. It was completely rammed. It's advisable to get there around 8/8.30 to get a table. The... read more

We had a fantastic meal here, I had the seafood risotto which I would definitely recommend! Great outdoor seating area, great service and wonderful food :) We got there early (for Italy anyway!) at 7.30pm on a Thursday and had no issue getting a table!

This is the place for the freshest and brightest fish that we found in Palermo. When we didn't recognise the Italian names of some on offer, they were quickly brought to the table to see and to choose. Ten minutes later, the chosen one arrived, crisply golden grilled, sparkling just with lemon and salt. I had the famous - and... More

We tried the La Cambusa on reccommendation of our hotel and also checked the ratings here. All we can sayis: try it! The terasse is a nice place to sit outside, very friendly staff. We had seafood - insalsta di mare, tuna tatar, mussel soup, grilled swordfish with cabonata, brasse filled with baked potate and dry tomatoe and ALL of... More

Wonderful fish ...so, so very fresh. Most helpful waiters. The best cassata I had. I was the only English person there which was very good....away from the tourist trail.

A mixed bag here. Starters were good - i had tuna tartare and my partner a tasty dish if bulgur wheat, broth and fish. However the main courses were poor - both my seabass and his tagliata of beef arrived cold. When i told the waiter my fish was cold, he did offer to make it again though even then... More

By the time we found this recommended restaurant, we had been eating some street food through the afternoon. So we ordered some lighter dishes. My husband had the cheese and jam starter which was very good. I had an insalata mista which had iceberg lettuce with about 12 arrugula ("rocket") on top. Never in Sicily have I had an insalata... We chose this restaurant after combing Trip Advisor reviews, and were not disappointed. We spent 4 days in Sicily and ate in 5 restaurants, and the food at the Cambusa was the most interesting and tastiest we had. It was not expensive either, so a good choice. The rabbit stuffed with pine nuts was good, the lamb with potatoes (particularly... More
